Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible to the Senior Specialist Building Control Surveyor for the effective and efficient administration and enforcement of Energy Performance of Buildings Legislation; and partnership working with Land and Property Services on vacant properties. Routine enforcement of Building Regulations including on-site inspections and plan-checking duties.

Whilst the Council are recruiting for a permanent Technical Officer in Downpatrick or Newry, please note that a reserve list will be compiled for future permanent, temporary, full time and part time Technical Officer positions at Council Offices in Downpatrick, Newry and other Council locations for a period of 12 months.
Salary
Scale SO1, spinal point 25-27, £36,363 - £38,220 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked). Plus 19% employer pension contribution.
It is Council policy to appoint at minimum salary scale point.
