The Role
The Technical Support Team Leader (Packaging Operations) with direct line management responsibilities, provides leadership of all Technical Support activities within Almac Pharma Services, Packaging Operations. The post holder will manage the team through New Product Introduction (NPI), new equipment & tooling qualification, process validation and technical transfer activities within the Almac Pharma Services Packaging department. Packaging operations are inclusive but not restricted to:
•Primary packaging operations (e.g. bottle, blister, sachet) and
•Secondary packaging operations (e.g. label, wallet, carton, manual kit assembly, printing, and Ultra Low Temperature (ULT)).
Based in Craigavon, the role will support various Almac Pharma Services packaging sites, working closely with the Operations, Technical Quality, Quality, Business Development, and Client project management teams.
The post holder must ensure that suitable procedures are developed and maintained for managing all aspects of the department, ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with the principles of current Good Manufacturing Practice and H&S requirements.
Essential Criteria
• Third level qualification (or equivalent) in a science, engineering or technical discipline OR significant experience within a supervisory/technical management role
• Experience working within an operational environment (preferably engineering, manufacturing or packaging)
• Previous experience working within an established Quality System (e.g. GMP, ISO)
• Engagement with the end customer and routine client interaction
• Problem solving
• Project Management
• Previous experience in a client facing role
Desirable Criteria
(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exists)
• Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or technical discipline
• Lean six sigma
• Good understanding of a Quality Management System
• Experience with packaging equipment procurement
• Experience of working in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment
• Experience of working in a validation environment
• Management / supervisory experience
