Temporary Clerical Officer, Media Development

Role Purpose

Cpl are seeking a Temporary Clerical Officer - Media Development (Funding) for our client Coimisiún na Meán. The successful candidate will be employed by Cpl on a 3-6 month temporary assignment working in Coimisiún na Meán, supporting the Media Landscape division.

About the Team/Division

The Funding Team is part of the Media Landscape Division and is responsible for administering media funding schemes that support the production and delivery of public interest journalism. Media Development is also part of Coimisiún na Meán’s Media Landscape Division. A key responsibility of the team is to oversee funding programmes and support the ongoing development of the wider media sector in Ireland. The team manages several funding schemes established following recommendations from the Future of Media Commission.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with checking, compiling, documenting and filing funding contracts.
  • Provide general administrative support, including preparing correspondence and organising, filing, scanning and recording documentation.
  • Provide high-quality customer service by responding to queries and supplying information to stakeholders.
  • Support the Journalism, Digital Transformation and Community Media Schemes teams in meeting the year-end deadline for paying grant awards.

Essential skills and experience

  • Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across different schemes and tasks

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience administering applications, grants or funding schemes.
  • Interest in journalism, news and current affairs.

Benefits, Package & Pay

  • This position is offered on a temporary agency contract for a period of 3-6 months.​
  • The successful candidate will be employed by Cpl​
  • Full time, 35 hrs per week​
  • Annual Leave: 22 days per annum​
  • The role will be a hybrid role combining home and office working. The current hybrid policy is 2 days in the office.​
  • The office is located at One Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, D04 NP20.​
  • This position is graded at the Clerical Officer scales
  • Successful candidates will be appointed on the first point of the scale.​
