This role will be based at our Bicester site, but due to operational needs it will require frequent travel to Ballymena.


The Job Summary:

Wrightbus is a fast‑moving company that has experienced significant growth over the past year, and we are now seeking a Test & Validation Manager. This role will lead, coordinate, and oversee the full test and validation process, taking ownership of end‑to‑end test management and the delivery of the Design Verification Plan (DVP) for future products.
This is a hands‑on position that serves as the single point of contact for all test planning, procedures, sourcing, and execution, ensuring robust control and clear reporting across all development and validation activities.


The Role
  • Develop and manage the overall test and validation strategy for new and existing products.
  • Lead the implementation and delivery of the Design Verification Plan (DVP).
  • Create and coordinate test plans aligned to requirements, targets, and programme timing.
  • Define test procedures with technical leads for application in product development.
  • Lead the sourcing and management of test activities with engineering service providers.
  • Assess vehicle build status and readiness for testing, resolving issues that may impact test execution.
  • Oversee procurement, installation, and control of test instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Coordinate vehicle movements for preparation, updates and test activities.
  • Evaluate vehicles as required to support test activities and attribute assessments.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all vehicle test preparation, scheduling, and execution.
  • Monitor and report test progress, risks and results against DVP targets and programme milestones.
  • Ensure all test activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test methods, processes, and overall validation efficiency.
  • Identify future resource needs, build and lead team as required.
The Requirements:
  • Degree in Automotive / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years in vehicle engineering, test and development
  • Proven leadership experience (technical / resource based)
