We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Therapy Assistant to join our team in CDNT5, Bray, Wicklow.

Contract Type: Permanent Full Time

Contract Hours: 39 Hours per week

Salary Scale: €34,100 to €39,626 pro rata per annum.

Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post:

To work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech and Language Therapist to provide assistance with the provision of therapy services to children attending therapy and work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children and families within the Wicklow area.

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

  • Possess the Certificate in Health Service Skills FETAC Level 5 which contains Modules 1 & 2 or Healthcare Support with Occupational Therapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, or with Physiotherapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, or with Speech and Language Therapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) maintained by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI)

OR

  • Possess a relevant healthcare qualification at not less than Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) maintained by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and give an undertaking to participate in the appropriate Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant/Speech and Language Therapy Assistant training modules 1 and 2, within 1 year of taking up duty.

OR

  • Have obtained an equivalent to (i) from another jurisdiction.

OR

  • Be currently employed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or in a comparable role.

AND

  • Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.

AND

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the State.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working in a Therapy Team.
  • Knowledge of therapy tools across one or more allied health professions – including use of visual schedules/communication books/boards or/and other communication devices, or/and understanding of set up of basic OT equipment (low support classroom seating, low support bathing and toileting aids).
  • Ideal candidate will have at least one year’s proven experience of working with children with disability.
  • Experience in working directly with child/young person to develop life skills to support overall wellbeing.
  • Experience in working as part of a team.
  • Experience of providing a community-based service.
  • Experience of carrying out therapy programmes.
  • Good knowledge of computers.
