Trainee Accountant

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Trainee Account to join our Kerry Dairy Ireland business, based in our Listowel Site in Co Kerry.

In Finance we are at the heart of the business, so you will be right where the action is in pursuit of your individual growth and our business growth.

You will partner with our different functions ensuring our controls are robust and operating effectively as well as contributing to our business performance by bringing the best financial insights enabling Kerry to deliver on its goals.

You’ll be immersed in different aspects of our Finance function over the 2-year program – a 2 year foundational trainee program with an additional year to complete your chosen professional accounting record of experience.

Whatever your role, you will gain valuable experience and take on different responsibilities within your team and you’ll be contributing to driving our business forward.

Our structured career framework that will support your growth within our Finance function. A designated mentor will be assigned to you to further support your career development and ambitions.

You will be supported through a professional accounting qualification, including but not limited to, ACCA or CIMA depending on your personal preference and supported by your manager.

Key responsibilities

Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams to provide high level financial insight and support to maximise performance

Closing and settling of Production Orders and investigating all variances within the settlement.

Assist with month end close procedures

Responsible for general stock clerk duties, including reconciliation of stock costs and product costings.

Accountable for the execution of production statistics to be presented to the Production Management Team at the weekly Stats meetings.

Evaluate and influence operations strategies, initiatives, and proposals

Ensure financial and operational information flow is communicated efficiently

Monthly operations analysis to provide insight on performance and measurement against KPIs

Use process data and financial information to unlock potential improvement opportunities, and collaborate with operations to realise these benefits

Qualifications and skills

You need a 2.1 degree or equivalent, preferably in Business or Accounting

A commitment to complete a professional accounting qualification.

Appetite to understand operations and see financial outcomes through an operations lens

Demonstrate the persistence and ability to overcome obstacles and get the job done.

Excellent attention to detail

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Always looking to develop personally and contribute to the development of the team
