Trainee Leisure Assistant

IMPORTANT:
Candidates who are successful for interview will receive an email after the closing date to invite them for a swim test, you must be available on the following dates to attend (Swim Test will be held on Monday 2nd February, Tuesday 3rd February and Saturday 7th February 2026) , the swim test will last no longer than 15 minutes. 

Successful swim test candidates will be offered an interview slot on Monday 9th or Thursday 12th February in South Lake Leisure Centre. (Interviews will be held on these dates only) Please print a copy fo the job description and person specification before you submit your application and don't forget to have a look at our amazing benefits leaflet.

Candidates who successfully pass the swim test will be emailed and expected to complete the following documents prior to interview:

• ​​​​​​Health Assessment questionnaire
• Disclosure of Convictions
• Referee details
• Shift availability record

Candidates must bring proof of identity on the day of their interview as listed below:

• Form of ID such as Birth certificate, passport etc
• Share code
• Immigration documents

FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION IN ADVANCE OF YOUR INTERVIEW WILL RESULT IN WITHDRAWL FROM THE PROCESS
Interviews will last no more than 15 minutes

HR staff will be on site to provide support and guidance throughout the day.

Job Purpose:
Committing to the one-team ethos, you will be flexible and collaborative and you will actively support all colleagues and other activities necessary to deliver the service objectives.

In the pools, you will train to become qualified in all lifeguarding and safety standards and procedures ensuring that all customers have a safe and enjoyable experience in the pool areas.

You will also ensure that all facilities/areas are properly organised and equipped so that customers have a safe, clean and enjoyable experience.
