Henderson Food Service is the leading supplier to the food service industry in Ireland. We source and supply a range of thousands of products to customers including hotels, restaurants, and public sector organisations such as hospitals and offices. The purpose of the role:

This role will be very well suited to a candidate who can work well within a team and who is willing to learn in a face paced environment. You will be working externally with suppliers and internally with other departments including, Sales, logistics, Finance, and Customer Service Desk to ensure we maintain an exceptional service level to customers.

 Working as Trainee Replenishment Buyer you will:

  • Supporting the Replenishment team with analysing, reporting and documentation; this includes daily, weekly and period reporting
  • Liaising with customer services and operational support to drive business improvement, reviewing KPIs and providing business insights
  • Monitoring performance of new lines and promotions in conjunction with the Trading team to drive KPI improvements
  • Proactively reviewing sales information to support continuous improvement on stock levels, service and buying opportunities
  • Learning supply chain systems and processes with a view to supporting and implementation of these systems and processes
  • Supporting the Replenishment department with day to day administrative duties
  • Providing support for ordering during seasonal and holiday periods under the guidance of the Replenishment Team Leader 
  • Management of stock levels to ensure targeted availability to customers is at agreed service levels, whilst achieving company targets for stock holding in our distribution centre
  • Generating and providing service level reports to relevant stakeholders, using benchmarking to drive continuous improvement and monitoring supplier service levels
  • Developing strong working relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues

Skills for Success Joining us as Trainee Replenishment Buyer the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

  • Be educated to GCSE level as a minimum, with Grade C of above in Maths and English(or equivalent)
  • Have a minimum of one years’ experience working in an office environment or retail / foodservice environment
  • Possess IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word and Outlook

 The Attributes you’ll need include:

  • Be able to work on your own initiative as well as working as part of a team
  • Have the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Willingness to learn

It is desirable if you have:

  • Experience of working a foodservice environment
  • Working knowledge or supply chain operations
  • Have experience of reviewing data and producing reports, and recommendations
  • Have an understanding of wholesale/retail operations supply chain and distribution
  • Demonstrate data input, analysis and tracking to a high degree of accuracy
  • Have experience of providing internal and external customer support/service
