Salary:Workshop Manager Scale – Department of Health & Children Consolidated Scales

Workshop Manager : The 5 -point salary scale for the post as of 01/02/2026:

€53,751, €55,550, €57,451, €59,434, €61,551

New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Training Centre Manager to join our Post‑School Education and Training Services. This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live meaningful, self‑directed lives within their communities.

The successful candidate will lead educational day service teams and play a key role in service development, transformation, and continuous improvement in line with New Directions standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support staff teams within educational day services.
  • Promote a person‑centred culture with high expectations for each individual supported.
  • Drive service innovation, quality improvement, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Liaise closely with individuals, families, natural supports, the HSE, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and support staff teams within educational day services.
  • Ensure programmes align with QQI, quality assurance requirements, and New Directions.
  • Support the development of meaningful community participation opportunities.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations, team performance, and service planning.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in Health or Social care.
  • A relevant third‑level qualification in the area of Health & Social Care.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Candidates must have valid work permissions and eligibility to work in Ireland at the time of application.
  • Strong understanding of QQI quality assurance and programme development processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New Directions standards.
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal, organisational, and team‑building skills.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with families, the HSE, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and committed to person‑centred best practice.
  • Computer literacy and confidence using digital systems.
