Baku GLS is a successful Transport Logistics business which has grown steadily over the past 25 years.

We currently have vacancies for TRANSPORT SUPPORT PLANNERS that are required to support continued growth and allow Baku to develop the next generation of skilleD logisticians and leaders within our company.

These positions will suit candidates who wish to embark on an exciting and rewarding career in Logistics. (Experienced Transport Planners will also be considered).

While experience in the sector is not necessarily required, it is an advantage.

Successful candidates will have a structured training and development program that is designed to provide every opportunity to become a Senior Planner or alternative role.

The salary scale for a Support Planner can range from €30,000 - €45,000, commensurate with experience and performance.

The salary scale for an experienced planner can range from €45,000 - €60,000, commensurate with experience and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the coordination & control of the delivery cycle
• Assist in building consignments (electronically)
• Assign consignments / loads for drivers (including route & journey time planning) and ensure all drivers are aware of their allocated job, giving full consideration to all health and safety regulations
• Liaise with warehouse to plan loads effectively and facilitate urgent deliveries
• Communicate professionally, effectively and assertively with customers, drivers and colleagues and harness good working relations
• Ensure / coordinate / prepare all relevant documentation required for consignments
• Book ferries
• Check truck/driver locations regularly to ensure they are located as planned

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

• An appropriate tertiary education certificate / diploma is preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in an administrative role would be advantage
• Good geographical knowledge of Ireland and European countries
• Good communication and organisational skills
