Transportation Coordinator

DP World is a leading global logistics and supply chain business and we are currently recruiting for a skilled Transport Coordinator to join our fast paced operation in Cork, Ireland on an initial12 months FTC. This role requires a strong Customer Service professional who will manage a variety of tasks and support both our internal stakeholders at sites across Europe and also our global customers with their transportation requirements. You will support in the coordination of our transport operations and will use your excellent communication and organisation skills to ensure a seamless service is provided ot all parties. 

About the Role:

How you will contribute:

• Provide various administration support and customer service to internal and external stakeholders to support in the effective transportation of products across Europe
• Proactively works with the operations teams to plan shipments to meet customers specific requirements, based on mode, service level, miles, equipment type.
• Assign approved service provider for transportation based on the approved carrier matrix, mode, service level, and cost efficiency to meet the customer’s expectations.
• Liaise with customers and confirm scheduled & actual pick up times.
• Consolidate shipments to ensure efficiency and cost savings.
• Work with providers on ensuring best in class service as needed.
• Communicate cost effective transportation options.
• Work closely with the warehouse teams on scheduling and prioritisation of shipments.
• Report, monitor and analyse carrier performance to ensure compliance with service metrics. 
• Meet and exceed the established goals for on-time pick-up and delivery.
• Proactive approach with service provider.
• Transport planning, customs and white glove experience will ensure the candidate will get great experience from this role.

Your Key Qualifications

• Confident, good communication skills and telephone manner
• Strong previous customer service skills with the added ability to take ownership of queries and seek/find suitable resolutions through effective problem solving
• 1-2 years experience in transportation or logistics is desireable but not essential
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
• Strong IT skills including a basic level of experience enabling the comfortable use of EXCEL spreadsheets
• Customer service oriented and ability to work to targets and under pressure
• Exposure to customs administration and or transport planning (white glove experience) would be desireable
