Trolley Repair & Service Engineer

We are looking for a reliable, hands‑on Field Service Operative with strong mechanical skills to join our service team. This role offers variety, independence, and practical repair and maintenance work across multiple customer sites — with all travel and break time paid.

What You’ll Do

As a Field Service Operative, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality maintenance and repairs. Your responsibilities will include:

Service & Repair Work

• Carry out comprehensive repair and maintenance on mechanical and retail equipment at customer locations nationwide.
• Fit, strip, straighten, and weld retail equipment components to required standards.
• Perform routine maintenance, reactive repairs, and planned preventative inspections on electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Complete occasional special assembly work on various products within our service sector.

Travel & Work Locations

• Work from a company‑provided, custom‑fitted service vehicle.
• Travel between assigned sites with travel time fully paid.
• Some jobs may require overnight stays (accommodation provided when necessary).

Customer Service & Documentation

• Complete accurate job reports, timesheets, and service documentation in a timely manner.
• Use the company’s Service Management System daily, including mandatory vehicle checks.
• Record all parts usage and report any training needs regarding system usage.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety procedures and use provided PPE correctly.
• Comply with the Company Vehicle Information Policy and report incidents according to procedure.
• Attend all relevant training sessions as required.
• Maintain high standards aligned with service level agreements, raising concerns when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on repair experience (essential).
• MIG welding experience (advantageous but not essential).
• Customer‑focused, reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable working mainly at external locations.
• Full UK driving licence with minimal endorsements.
• Ability to comply with Wanzl’s Facial Hair Policy (clean shaven for RPE, with exemptions for religious or medical reasons).
