We are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the efficient day-to-day running of our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will manage a small team, ensure accurate and timely handling of stock and deliveries, and maintain a clean, safe, and productive working environment. You will be a confident leader with excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Management & Communication

  • Ensure clear and effective communication across warehouse teams and with senior management.
  • Act as a key liaison between departments and external logistics providers.

2. Leadership & Team Motivation

  • Manage and motivate a small team to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Lead by example, supporting team morale, collaboration, and high performance.

3. Planning & Organising

  • Plan and organise daily workloads, truck loading/unloading schedules, and deliveries.
  • Manage the team rota, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal workflow.
  • Prioritise and delegate tasks effectively to meet operational goals.
  • Oversee efficient and prompt customer service within the warehouse.

4. Team Delegation & Supervision

  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately and manage time and resources efficiently.
  • Prepare stock areas in advance for incoming goods.
  • Coordinate goods-in processes, including unloading, put-away, and inter-branch transfers (IBT).
  • Manage container deliveries and ensure unloading happens as per schedule.
  • Plan and oversee regular cycle counts and the annual stocktake.
  • Monitor performance, provide mentoring, and support team development.

5. Conflict Resolution & Management

  • Handle conflicts professionally and assertively, promoting resolution and team cohesion.
  • Maintain a fair and balanced approach to conflict management.

6. Systems Management

  • Identify areas for system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes and stock control systems.

7. Compliance & Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Manage staff time off and holidays to minimise disruption.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills :
  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and delegation capabilities
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and motivate teams effectively
  • Competency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of health & safety and compliance regulations
  • Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
