The ideal person will have or be:

  • Experience in a parts or distribution operation, including inventory control, goods inwards, and order picking.

  • Computer literate, with the ability to use appropriate systems and software, for example Excel.

  • Ability to record information accurately and legibly.

  • A methodical approach with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well within a small team.

  • A positive can-do attitude.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to complete manual handling duties, including heavy lifting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStock Integrity
  • Maintain stock securely and in good condition at all times.

  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with regular perpetual stock checks to ensure physical stock matches the computerised inventory.

  • Report mis-picks to the Warehouse Manager and accurately record discrepancies.

  • Ensure faster-moving parts are located in convenient locations to improve picking efficiency.

  • Ensure stock of similar parts is appropriately segregated.

Inbound Stock
  • Check all incoming stock deliveries against pack notes.

  • Advise promptly of any discrepancies and mark paperwork accordingly.

  • Inspect incoming parts for damage and record any issues.

  • Identify and place inbound parts into the correct locations, including stock items and customer orders, ensuring all parts are correctly labelled with part numbers.

Outbound Stock
  • Pick customer orders quickly and accurately in preparation for dispatch.

  • Ensure customer orders are placed in the correct delivery bays.

  • Prevent unauthorised removal of parts stock from the building.

  • Ensure authorised signatures, receipts, or payments are obtained for all parts issued over the trade front counter.

  • Adhere to First In, First Out stock control management processes.

Customer Service
  • Provide high levels of customer service by accurately picking and assembling parts for customer delivery runs.

  • Assist the team in resolving customer issues.

  • Where applicable, ensure trade customers visiting the TPS Centre are dealt with professionally.

Systems and Processes
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including manual handling practices.

  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.

  • Follow and comply with established business processes and guidelines, including warranty procedures.

  • Ensure correct disposal or recycling in compliance with environmental regulations.

  • Process exchange units appropriately and handle returns efficiently.

  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.

  • Utilise and update all systems effectively to carry out assigned tasks.

  • Participate in training courses and learning services to continually develop and maintain the skills required for the role.

  • Ensure personal protective equipment is correctly used and stored.
