Overall Purpose of the Post:

To work closely within a small team and the Warehouse Supervisor to achieve and maintain a high level of service. Emphasis should be placed on maximising opportunities to increase the company’s profitability by adherence to all company policies and processes, i.e. Health & Safety, Manual Handling, House Keeping and Performance.

Duties:

• Load up the conveyor belt with donated clothes and textiles

• Identify (Ladies fashion wear, shoes, handbags, Menswear, childrenswear etc.) and sort donated clothes for re-sale in our shops

• Be able to work within a small team of women and men

• Comply with directions and instruction from Warehouse Manager

• Duties involve regular repetitive light, medium and heavy lifting (up to 8-10kg approx).

• Alternate from base to top of conveyor to sort as per roster

• Separate textiles from shoes, handbags, toys, waste and paper

• Separate good textiles into Ladies dresses, Ladies tops, Ladies skirts and trousers and other garments for sale in our shops.

• Record yield from sorted textiles, rag textiles and waste

• Alternate from rag to sort floor as per roster.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by good housekeeping and follow ‘Clean as You Go’ Policy

• Carry out other general warehouse duties applicable to a warehouse operation

• Carry out duties in line with Health & Safety and Manual Handling requirements.

• To maintain a positive attitude, co-operation and respect for all colleagues

To minimise exposure to breaches of GDPR, strict compliance is required in the course of carrying out the duties of this job and working with others. This will include but is not limited to compliance with Enable Ireland’s suite of GDPR Policies & Procedures, attending all GDPR Training sessions and ensuring personal responsibility for implementing safeguards and measures as directed.

Terms & Conditions:

Responsible to: Warehouse Manager

Probation: A probationary period of 6 months wherein three probationary meetings will take place to review your performance and suitability for appointment. The probationary period may be extended or terminated for any reason at Enable Ireland’s discretion.

Salary: The current salary scale for this post is €28,392 pro rata per annum

Annual leave: Annual leave entitlement is 20 days pro rata per annum plus 2 gift days and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Pension Scheme: Enable Ireland operates a contributory pension scheme which all employees may join on earlier of 1st July or 1st January following start date.

Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment.

Garda Clearance/Police Clearance: These will be required for all prospective employees who will undertake relevant work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons.

Sick Pay: All periods of sickness exceeding two days must be medically certified. Weekly medical certificates are required thereafter. The Company reserves the right to have you examined by its own Doctor after 3 months continuous sick leave. Upon completion of 6 months continuous service with the Company sick pay will be as follows: Full pay less social welfare for the first 13 weeks of sickness in any 12 month rolling period and half pay less social welfare for a further (13) weeks of sickness absence in the same 12 month rolling period

Redeployment: In exceptional circumstances the organisation reserves the right to redeploy you to an alternative role that is suitable to your skills and experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 12+ months experience of general warehouse duties and similar of working in Fashion retail

• Good attention to detail

Organisation and Professional Knowledge

• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual Handling Requirements.

Core Competencies

• Good oral & written communication skills

• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team

• Be able to identify fashion trends

• To undertake duties including lifting and carrying weights up to 8-10kg approx

• Flexible approach to duties and ability to follow instructions

• Be of smart and clean appearance
