Position: Warehouse Operative / Relief Delivery Driver (Full-Time, 40-Hour Contract)

Location: Virgina road station,Pottlereagh, Kells

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Sheridans Cheesemongers is seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative / Relief Delivery Driver to join our warehouse team. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role that combines warehouse operations with delivery driving as needed.

Role Overview

In this hybrid role, you will work primarily in our warehouse, ensuring the efficient handling, packing, and storage of food products (both ambient and chilled). You will also step in as a Relief Delivery Driver, delivering products to customers and collecting from suppliers, ensuring professional and timely service.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Duties

• Pick and pack daily customer orders to a high standard
• Receive and organise stock in designated storage areas
• Maintain and monitor stock rotation (FIFO) and stock control systems
• Record all stock movements using our internal computer system
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
• Work across ambient and chilled storage environments
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, safe, and well-organised at all times
• Ad hoc duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager

Relief Delivery Driving

• Deliver goods to customers and collect from suppliers as needed
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are clean and roadworthy
• Load and secure goods safely for transport
• Follow all road safety and company transport policies
• Provide professional and courteous service during all deliveries
• Support the warehouse team when not on delivery duty

Candidate Requirements

• At least 1 year of order picking or manual handling experience (preferred)
• Valid, clean driving licence (essential)
• Comfortable with operating warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet truck, forklift – training can be provided)
• Knowledge of HACCP (preferred)
• Good standard of literacy, numeracy, and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Flexible, reliable, and self-motivated
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed
• Positive, can-do attitude and pride in delivering high standards

Contract Details

• Full-time 40-hour contract
