Job Purpose
Dawn Distribution isa leading business at the forefront of the temperature-controlled food logistics sector in Ireland, we specialise in managing imports and exports for a wide range of valued customers. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a competent and highly organised individual to join our team. This role requires a Reach Truck Driver to effectively and efficiently perform their daily work tasks to the highest level of hygiene, food safety and health and safety standards, meeting all targets and reporting all issues and actively be involved in any investigations and corrective actions.
The role involves the employee being an integral part of the team, working together and meeting production plans.
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday - 10:30am - 18:00pm & Friday - 10:00am - 20:00pm
Role Responsibilities & Duties
- To familiarise oneself with the daily picks and releases and shipping schedules. Working as part of the team to book in stock, prepare orders for shipping ensuring excellent attention to detail and upkeep of stock reports.
- Perform pre-start checks and record legibly reporting any issues before commencing day’s work.
- Ensure the machinery/equipment is in good working condition to start shift.
- Ensure that during work if there is an equipment or processing fault that it is managed immediately, and full documentation and communication of issues occurs to prevent re-occurrence and trouble shoot for future.
- Ensure the line output is efficient and stoppages and downtime are minimized.
- Changeovers need to be managed in a smooth and time efficient manner adhering to all food safety policies and health and safety policies, working with maintenance and following the machine operation SOP in a team effort.
- Employees need to manage and use stock in rotation i.e. First in First Out, and report any shortages to prevent waiting time for production.
- All records and checks sheets to be completed accurately and filled in so all the information is legible.
- All issues need to be reported as soon as they occur, so the issue can be managed. Please ensure clear communication and full details are given.
- Employees need to recycle at all times allocating recyclable materials to the correct locations.
- Communicate openly with full details daily to your team, the maintenance team, the quality team, H&S and all managers ensuring you are responsible for your work and your work area and product at all times.

- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a Reach Truck.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of Food Safety (HACCP) and Health & Safety process.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in food logistics or temperature-controlled warehousing (preferred)
