Water Treatment Plant Operator

About the Role:

EPS is seeking a dedicated and flexible Plant Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of water treatment facilities at our plants in Lettermacaward and Killybegs. This hands-on role involves monitoring, operating and maintaining plant processes and equipment, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or electrical craft background and strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow formal procedures and maintain high standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor treatment processes and equipment (SCADA/PLC systems).
• Carry out routine maintenance and general site duties indoors and outdoors.
• Perform daily lab testing and complete process records and sampling.
• Support basic mechanical repairs where appropriate.
• Maintain high housekeeping, safety and compliance standards.
• Participate in a standby/call‑out rota and work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays.

Key Competencies and Skills:

• Mechanical or electrical craft background (desirable).
• Strong computer skills for plant monitoring and record‑keeping.
• Ability to follow procedures and work safely at all times.
• Reliability, flexibility, and comfort working in all weather conditions.
