Weighbridge Office Administrator
Job Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a new role of a Weighbridge Office Administrator to join our busy and expanding Transport Team. The successful candidate will be required to report to the Transport and Logistics Manager and to manage the daily operations of the vehicles and all daily administrative activities. The successful candidate must be able to ensure office procedures run smoothly and will receive on the job training and mentorship.
Duties:
• Supervising PODs (Proof of Delivery).
• Managing incoming telephone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel, and providing information through phone/email.
• Supporting the transport department with administrative tasks, including inputting driver PDOS into the system and scheduling boat sailings.
• Maintaining a neat and welcoming reception area.
• Performing general administrative duties such as filing and photocopying.
• Weighing loads accurately, ensuring proper documentation for waste, containers, trailers, and recording data for Re-Gen incoming trailers.
• Adding new material types to the system as requested.
• Generating new contracts/releases on both BC and Unwin systems.
• Modifying and correcting amendments as necessary.
• Handling shipping bookings.
• Reporting to the Transport Manager.
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties within the scope of this role.
Essential Criteria:
• Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
• The ideal candidate will be a problem solver and have excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Professional attitude
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking skills
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• The successful candidate must also hold a Full Driving Licence.
• Has previously worked in the transport industry for a minimum of 1 year.
