WGH CSSD Operative
This service provides the decontamination of reusable invasive medical devices used by Clinicians, Surgeons, Nurses, Midwives, and other clinical grades that perform clinical procedures requiring reusable medical devices and endoscopy decontamination as guided by National Standards and HIQA Guidelines.
The appointed Decontamination Operative will work as part of a dynamic team reporting to the CNM of the service under the governance of the Peri-Operative Governance Group.
To work as part of a team to deliver a high-quality decontamination and sterilisation service for RIMDs and Endoscopes. To reprocess surgical and medical instrumentation and devices, including the collection, cleaning, disinfection, inspection, packing, sterilising and delivery back to the service user. Each step is tracked and traced on a computerised system, adhering to the HSE standards and recommended practices for Central Decontamination Units.
The post holder will have close working relationships with the decontamination team across multiple services in Wexford General Hospital and Ely Hospital.
