The Ideal Person Will Have/Be

And If Possible (But Not Essential), Have

• Minimum of 2 years' experience within a workshop environment.

• CDK/Keyloop knowledge.

• A strong working knowledge of modern motor technology.

• Previous experience of the BMW/MINI brand.

JOB SUMMARY

• Conduct regular workshop team meetings, discussing relevant performance figures and highlighting areas of opportunity.

• Be an enthusiastic individual who thrives in a demanding environment and is able to motivate a team.

• Be responsible for individual technician and workshop efficiency, productivity and utilisation.

• Monitor workshop operations and staff to ensure the achievement of budgets and high levels of efficiency while maintaining quality.

• Ensure first-time fix and return-to-workshop levels are managed effectively, documented and actioned within the workshop environment.

• Identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities within the team. Proactively highlight skills gaps and training needs as necessary to develop the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for ensuring service and repairs are carried out effectively and accurately to achieve the highest possible standards for technical quality and customer satisfaction.

• Lead and motivate technicians and support the Workshop Manager with regular team meetings.

• Achieve defined targets in terms of productivity, efficiency and utilisation.

• Ensure Sytner Health and Safety requirements are controlled and met at all times.

• Supervise Technicians and Apprentices.

• Ensure job time allotted/authorised is not exceeded without further authorisation.

• Fully cooperate with, and ensure, Service Advisors are well informed of progress, reacting to priority cases where necessary.

• Be responsible for general order and housekeeping in the workshop.

• Ensure that tools, equipment and workshop maintenance schedules are kept up to date and compliant with Sytner policy.

• Be responsible for accurate warranty work and ensure that exchanged parts are stored carefully and are ready for return or claim.

• Communicate technical queries, assess problems and keep personal technical knowledge up to date.

• Maintain Health and Safety in the workshop and keep records for audit purposes.

• Carefully monitor and report non-productive and idle time.

• Ensure daily ramp inspection reports are completed accurately and stored accordingly.

• Establish and maintain quality standards and document reports where necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED

• Maintain quality, timeliness and accuracy of job write-ups.

• Recommend, organise and obtain quotations for workshop equipment repairs to present for authorisation.

• Ensure Vehicle Protection/Covers are available and used at all times.

• Take an active part in upholding the Company's Health and Safety Policy.

• Comply with Company legislation as set out in the Terms and Conditions.

• Ensure the work area is kept presentable and in a safe condition in order to uphold manufacturer and company image.
