The Role

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Workshop Operative/Production Assistant to support day-to-day operations in our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, is eager to develop their skills, and takes pride in contributing to high-quality custom furniture projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support, including preparing materials, operating machinery, coating, and finishing components
• Assist with quality control by identifying and reporting defects in materials or workmanship
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment in line with all health and safety procedures
• Load and unload materials and assist with preparing finished products for delivery
• Support skilled team members across various stages of the manufacturing process as required

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar workshop or manufacturing role is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks thoughtfully and accurately
• Willingness to learn, develop skills, and take a hands-on approach to work
• Ability to follow instructions while also showing initiative
• Good awareness of health and safety practices within a workshop or construction environment
• Reliable, punctual, and positive “can-do” attitude
