A fixed-term vacancy currently exists within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following post and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:-
World Heritage Coordinator
Hours of Work: 37 Hours per week
Status: This is a three-year fixed-term post.
Salary: Scale SO2 and in the range SCP 28 - 30, currently £39,152 - £40,777 annum.
Location: The location of the post will be confirmed upon appointment in one of three locations in the Borough: Larne; Carrickfergus or; Ballymena. However, requirements of the post may result in the postholder being required to work in any of the locations listed across Mid & East Antrim. The premises are wheelchair accessible and there are accessible toilets.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Oversee and report to the Gracehill Local Management Group, in line with the Local Management Plan, on the Gracehill component of the Moravian Church Settlements World Heritage Site.
The post will be a key coordination role for the site with the holder acting as a focal point for world heritage issues in Gracehill and providing advice and support to owners and stakeholders on the implications of the designation. The post holder will promote best practice, seek opportunities for funding, develop and maintain statistics, be central to the development of the site, and represent the site at transnational and UK coordinator meetings.
The postholder will also be expected to play an important role in the development of heritage knowledge and expertise within the Council and to support colleagues in the development and delivery of relevant plans, events and projects.
This role is being recruited in partnership with the Historic Environment Division, Department for Communities.
