Yard Person

Job Overview:

Due to our increased work load we are currently recruiting for a reliable hard working Yard Person to support the day to day operations at our facility. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized yard, assisting with loading/unloading materials, operating machinery (if trained), and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Key Duties:

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and storage areas including trailer park

· Managing the location of where skips are located

· Assist the Environmental department

· Assist with the loading and offloading of deliveries

· Ensuring that the yard/site is a safe and secure environment

· Monitor and report any hazards, damages, or equipment issues to supervisors.

· Completing any necessary paperwork

· Moving materials to other areas of site

· Liaising and co-operating with other staff

· Operate plant machinery and equipment e.g. forklifts after proper training.

· Follow site-specific health and safety procedures at all times.

· Support in general site maintenance tasks, including sweeping, litter picking, and minor repairs.

· Carry out stock checks and basic record-keeping as needed

Essential Criteria:

· Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.

· Previous experience of driving forklift

· Good level of understanding and spoken English and communication skills.

· Ability to take direction and following instruction, and as part of a team

· Basic understanding of health and safety practices.

· Clean full driving licence

Duration: Full Time Permanent

Location: Newry

Remuneration: Attractive

Hours of work: 06:00AM to 03:00PM, 09:00AM to 06:00PM rotating every two weeks
