Work Experience & Team Working

(35 hours per week)

City of Dublin FET College North Great George’s (Youthreach),

Central Campus

Essential Requirements

• Relevant qualification

• Experience in teaching Work Experience and /or Team Working at QQI level 4 and 5

• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite

Desirable Requirements

• Youthreach experience

Qualities and Skills

Applicants should have a combination of the following:

• Ability to facilitate groups of up to 12 young people in learning situations.

• Ability to work with young people with various degrees of ability and motivation.

• Ability to draw up and implement a structured yet flexible programme of training and development with and for young people.

• Confidence in her/his ability to relate to the target group.

• Good communication skills.

• Awareness of the challenges faced by disadvantaged communities

As vocational or practical activities are used as a medium for learning in Youthreach, it is required that staff can combine the above qualities with an ability to facilitate learning using a range of practical skills. 

Salary

For persons entering public service for the first time, starting pay will be at the minimum point of the Youthreach Resource salary scale, €38,283 pro rata per annum. This is not negotiable. An incremental salary scale applies thereafter.

Previous public sector experience may be eligible for incremental credit, to be determined upon appointment.
