The HSE Mid-West Young Adult Disability Team, aims to improve the experiences of Young People transitioning from child disability services to adult focused disability services in the Mid-West region i.e., Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary. This specialist multidisciplinary team (MDT) for Young People with disabilities is provided by the HSE Mid-West Young Adult Disability Team (Principal Psychologist and Senior Grade Occupational Therapist and Psychology Assistant. The service is delivered in line with the approved Model of Service document developed in 2022. The overall purpose of the post is to put in place and provide clinical leadership and pivotal service for the Young Adults Disability Team. Under the model of service for the Young Adult Disability Team in the Mid-West Community Healthcare the “ Psychologist will also act as Clinical Lead of the Young Adult Disability Team, a role that will require 0.5 WTE allocation” . This level of responsibility for service lead and development are the duties of the Principal Psychologist in addition to clinical responsibilities. Currently young adult service users attending this service, the majority of whom have received a diagnosis of Intellectual disability and Autism, do not have access to other pathways for psychology services despite the established complexity of their needs. This post forms part of the overall resourcing of services within CHO Mid-West. The post covers Mid-West Community Healthcare. And b) Applicants must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the office. 2. Annual Registration a. Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). And b. Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). 3. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 4. Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Note 1* : As per S.I. 415 of 2013, Part 3, 14 (1) which came into effect on 1st July 2017 PART 3 Staff 1. 3. Persons in Charge 14. (1) There shall be a person in charge of a designated centre. (2) The person in charge may be the registered provider where the registered provider concerned is a registered medical practitioner— ( a ) who is solely employed in carrying on the business of the designated centre concerned, and ( b ) has not less than 3 years’ experience of carrying on the business of a nursing home under the Health Act 2007. (3) Where the registered provider is not the person in charge, the person in charge shall be a registered nurse with not less than 3 years’ experience of nursing older persons within the previous 6 years. (4) The person in charge may be a person in charge of more than one designated centre if the Chief Inspector is satisfied that he or she is engaged in the effective governance, operational management and administration of the designated centres concerned. (5) Where the registered provider is not the person in charge, he or she shall ensure that the documents specified in Schedule 2 are provided by the person concerned. (6) A person who is employed to be a person in charge on or after the day which is 3 years after the day on which these Regulations come into operation shall have— (a) not less than 3 years’ experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area, and (b) a post registration management qualification in health or a related field. (7) Where the Chief Inspector is satisfied that no resident of the designated centre concerned has been assessed as requiring full time nursing care, paragraphs (3) and (6) do not apply to the person in charge of that centre. Post Specific Requirements Demonstrate depth and breadth of nursing management experience in Older Persons Services as relevant to the role. Other Requirements Specific to the Post Candidates must have access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a speech and language therapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention to children with a range of disabilities, clinical supervision and participate in ongoing service delivery. The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings including the Centre, preschools, schools, special schools, children’s homes and community settings. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: Outlined in Job Description. The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: · Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Speech & Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU. AND · Have 3 years’ full time (or an aggregate of 3 years’ full time) post qualification clinical experience. AND · Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. AND · Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued. Annual registration · On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU. AND · Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland. Desirable Criteria: · Experience of interdisciplinary team working. · Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children with disabilities. · Experience working with children with Eating, Drinking and Swallowing difficulties. · Experience working with Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC).
