Assistant Head Baker
Main purpose of the role: Assist the Head Baker to ensure the Bakery Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times. Provide our customers with excellent quality products and customer service. The ideal candidate will have/be: • Previous food preparation and production experience; • Qualified baker is a distinct advantage; • Creative and able to embrace new recipes; • Excellent communication skills; • Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs; • Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible; • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; Main duties: • Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative; • Bake and finish products to the highest standard; • Drive sales through instore initiatives; • Merchandise and present the Bakery department to the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines; • Adhere to weekly stocktaking and daily waste procedures in the Bakery; • Adhere to production planning and batch control guidelines for bakery products; • Conduct quality and freshness checks; • Attend relevant training as required and implement learnings in store.

The ideal candidate will have/be: - 2 years` experience in a retail role is desirable • Ability to balance tills • Excellent communication skills • Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs • Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Main Duties: • Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative • Use a computerised till system that has a barcode scanner • Weigh and price products such as fruit and vegetables • Check customers` ages for restrictions on items such as alcohol • Pack customer`s purchases • Process store loyalty cards, coupons and vouchers • Take payments and make sure the till balances at the end of the day • Spend time away from the till, stocking shelves and checking stock • Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times • Attend and engage in team meetings and implement any learnings
Butcher
Main purpose of the role: Ensure the Meat Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent quality and products and services. The ideal candidate will have/be: • Craft butchery course is desirable • Numerical skills • Excellent communication skills • Previous customer service experience is an advantage • The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi task under pressure • A passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers • HACCP training is beneficial but not essential.
