What does this role involve? This role is responsible for routine clinical testing in our laboratory. The main duties of the role include: • Routine use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs). • The performance of various analytical procedures including various manual screening and automated methods covering a wide variety of clinical diagnostic tests. • The preparation and handling of samples and diagnostic reagents. • The operation of various automated analytical systems such as Rx Daytona Plus, Rx Imola and Siemens Immulite XPi. • The accurate maintenance of analytical records. • Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process. • The routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation. • The preparation of specimens for transportation to ensure that their stability is safeguarded during shipment to the appropriate analytical laboratory. • Recording and Monitoring of temperature for Laboratory and Equipment. • Perform troubleshooting on technical issues associated with Clinical Diagnostic Testing. • Ensuring that all the necessary Quality Control checks are completed daily and that they meet internal criteria. • Participation in Quality Audits. Essential: • Qualified to at least degree level in Biochemistry or a life science. • Demonstrable experience of working with strong attention to detail. • Able to undertake both days and night shift patterns (more info above) • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. Services are provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. As a senior member of the interdisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy services, including assessment and intervention to children and adolescents enrolled on the CDNT. Audiologist Clinical Specialist Purpose of the Role The purpose of this post is to provide a pivotal role in the co-ordination and delivery of Audiology activities within CHI. In particular, the post holder (under the guidance of the CHI Audiology Professional Lead) will be responsible for maintaining, overseeing and developing all aspects of the CHI Bone Conduction Hearing Implant (BCHI) service. Essentilal Criteria: Candidates must have at the latest date of application: - 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (A) (i) Hold the two-year full-time MSc in Audiology awarded by the National University of Ireland, University College Cork at Level 9 on the Quality and Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) framework, which includes a licence to practice clinical audiology in Ireland OR (ii) Hold an equivalent qualification in Audiology awarded in another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health (An Roinn Slainte) (See Note 1* below). OR (B) Hold the BSc (Hons) in Audiology awarded by Athlone Institute of Technology awarded in 2016 only, at Level 8 on the Quality and Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) framework. OR (C) Candidates currently working as an Audiologist or Audiological Scientist within the Irish Health System must hold: (a) a qualification equivalent to (A) above OR (b) The British Association of Audiologists Examinations Parts 1 & 2 (or its predecessor) OR (c) A qualification equivalent to (C) (a) or (b).
