Clinical Nurse Manager 2, Endoscopy (Pre-Assessment /Triage Nurse), Altrabainisteoir Cliniciúil 2, Ospidéal Ginearálta Loch Garman The Role: The purpose of this post is to provide a Referral Triage and Endoscopy Pre-assessment service to ensure optimal and efficient use of Endoscopy capacity in Wexford General Hospital. The aim of the role is to avoid unnecessary procedures and ensure those scheduled are appropriately prepared for procedure especially in cases where patients have comorbidities being treated which may be affected by undergoing an endoscopic procedure. This will ensure seamless journey through the process. Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Endoscopy Pre-Assessment / Triage Nurse) will work as a key member of the Inter-disciplinary team providing support to the Endoscopy unit and patients using the service. The CNM 2 will liaise with Anaesthetists, Surgeons and Endoscopists regarding potential medical issues pertaining endoscopic procedures. He/she communicates to GP’s and Clinicians for appropriate onward referral to ensure pre-operative health is optimised. The Pre-Assessment nurse will also act as the coordinator of care prior to and during admission. The Person: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc ((a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) registered, or are eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division, and other divisions as relevant to the specific service, of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, as appropriate, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). And (ii) Have at least 5 years post registration nursing experience (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area. And (iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. And (iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development And (b) Candidates must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. 2. Annual registration (i) On appointment, Practitioners must maintain live annual registration in the General Nurse Division, and other divisions as relevant to the specific service, of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, as appropriate, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). And (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC). 3. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 4. Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Senior Speech and Language Therapist · 0.4 WTE (14 hours) Senior Speech and Language Therapist in Specialist Palliative Care · Indefinite Duration (Permanent) · H.S.E. funded · Based in Harold’s Cross This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to join an experienced Speech and Language Therapy team with expert knowledge, training and experience in the provision of speech and language therapy palliative rehabilitation to persons receiving specialist palliative care. The post holder in specialist palliative care will provide a quality Speech & Language Therapy service including assessment, diagnosis and treatment of complex communication and/or swallowing presentations, in persons with life limiting neurological, oncology or respiratory diseases, general ageing and/or other medical conditions, in line with best practice and departmental guidelines. The post holder will work collaboratively with the service user, multidisciplinary team and family to fulfil service user goals related to communication and swallow function and quality of life. The post holder will align the SLT service goals with the objectives and core values of the organisation. The post will include a developmental and educational role within the organisation for relevant service areas, patients and carers, with support from the speech and language therapy manager. The post holder will avail of regular professional supervision. Essential Requirements Qualifications: · Be registered as a Speech and Language Therapist by the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board, CORU. Practitioners must maintain annual registration with CORU · Successful completion of a Feeding/Eating/Drinking/Swallowing (FEDS)/ Dysphagia education/training programme recognised by the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists. (Applicants with a Speech & Language Therapy qualification awarded in 2011 or after, from one of the recognised Irish universities, have Dysphagia training as an integral part of their qualification.
