Administrative Officers
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The postholder will assist with the efficient running of the section and will work as part of a team. Main Duties and Responsibilities The list of duties is not exhaustive. The postholder will be expected to undertake other relevant duties in order to meet any changing operational requirements. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Terms and conditions of employment are those as laid down by the Non-Teaching Negotiating Committee for Further Education in Northern Ireland and will include locally agreed terms and conditions. Salary Scale Band 3 Scale Column Point 5, £24,790 to Point 6, £25,183 per annum. New appointments will normally be placed on the first point of the scale. Hours of Work The hours of work will not normally be less than 36 per week for full-time posts. Part-time hours may also be available. The hours of duty which may be on any of the College sites will be such as laid down to meet the needs of the College and may include periods of duty after, as well as before 5.00 pm on any Monday to Friday. Annual Leave Entitlement Entitlement to annual leave is 23 days in a full holiday year in addition to 12 public and extra statutory holidays. Annual leave will be pro-rata for part-time positions. Entitlement to leave in the first year of employment is pro-rata to the number of months completed. Pension Scheme There is an Occupational Pension Scheme relating to employment with the College. PART-TIME LECTURING AT NWRC The College is currently seeking applications from interested individuals to join a Part-time Lecturers' Register to assess student needs, plan and prepare teaching and learning programmes for groups and individuals and manage the learning process within the classes you are assigned. The North West Hospice services is physically located on the Sligo University Hospital campus with both hospice and hospital connected by a physical corridor. Our integrated service currently is provided through: · 7-bed Inpatient Unit increasing to 12 bedded unit in Nov-2025 – the current 7 bedded Unit has three single rooms and a four-bed mixed gender area and is located on the Sligo University Hospital (SUH) campus with a physical corridor connecting the unit to SUH. This provides ease of movement for patients to transfer from SUH to unit. The location also provides easy access for Hospice service to access all the speciality services in SUH. A new Inpatient Unit development with 12 single beds is in construction phase and is expected to open in Nov’ 2025. This unit will replace the current 7-bedded unit and will remain on the current site. · Community Palliative Care Team works across the North-West visiting patients in their own homes or other care settings such as nursing homes or community hospitals. This team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, a social worker and a doctor works very closely with the patients’ GP and Public Health Nurse to provide care to the patient. · Sligo University Hospital Palliative Care Team based in Sligo University Hospital (SUH)- provides palliative care to patients at Sligo University Hospital and their families, and provides support to the hospital’s medical and nursing teams Currently pastoral care is provided by the Chaplaincy Department in Sligo University Hospital. This is the first Pastoral care post recruited for North West Hospice and will work predominantly in the Inpatient Unit and Community Palliative care team . On occasion the post holder may provide pastoral care to patients under the Hospital Palliative Care service at their request. Reporting Relationship This post holder will report to the Operational Lead, North West Hospice. Key Working Relationships The post holder will work closely with members of the Multidisciplinary team and also engage with members of the hospital chaplaincy team in SUH.
