General Operative

As a General Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our waste processing facility. Working as part of the Operations team, you will assist with the receipt, handling, processing, and dispatch of waste materials while ensuring full compliance with environmental legislation, company procedures, and our EPA licence. This is a varied, hands-on role that requires a strong commitment to health and safety, attention to detail, and the flexibility to support different areas of the business as operational needs require Key Responsibilities • Receive, inspect, track and segregate incoming waste streams (including paint waste, batteries and aerosols) in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. • Process fuel oil and other materials in line with operational requirements • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, containers, and waste materials safely and efficiently. • To conduct your duties in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the company’s waste licence • To complete all paperwork and administration necessary as requested by your supervisor or as the business needs dictate • To always adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures, including but not limited to: • To always wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) • To highlight any safety concerns to your manager immediately and to report any accidents/ incidents to your manager immediately • To report all non-conformances to the relevant personnel and to follow up to ensure compliance requirements are met • To ensure that housekeeping is kept to a high standard around the site and that all activities comply with health and safety requirements • To communicate any issues that arise to the Operations Manager/ Supervisor immediately • To attend plant meetings, company meetings, training courses etc. as required • To provide direct operational support to all areas of the business as required and as reasonably requested by the company including but not limited to support for offsite operations (e.g. waste oil and garage services, field services) • To be flexible to carry out other duties as may be requested of your manager from time to time • To communicate any issues that arise within the plant/ process to the Operations Manager or next most appropriate person immediately • To maintain vehicles, work equipment, materials and PPE clean and in working order and to report any loss or damage immediately The above description is a general outline of the requirements of the role.
