Who we want The Irish Air Corps is recruiting qualified and experienced Air Traffic Controllers to join our team as Direct Entry Air Traffic Services Officers at Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Co. Dublin. If you are qualified and experienced in Aerodrome and/or Approach Control and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career in a dynamic, mission-focused environment, this is your opportunity to bring your expertise to the Irish Defence Forces. You will receive specialised training to transition into the role of a military ATCO and become part of a highly skilled team, ensuring the safety and efficiency of air operations. As an Air Traffic Control officer, you will be at the heart of the Air Corps’ flying output, responsible for directing and supporting military air operations and training within Ireland. In your role, you will: Minimum Qualifications 1. Be a citizen or Ireland or have a legal entitlement to reside and work in the State for the period of their commission. 2. Undergo and pass an Initial Military aero-medical examination and a military fitness test. 3. Be of good character and satisfy required security clearances. 4. Be less than 50 years of age on 31 December. For appointment at Lieutenant rank: A candidate for a Direct Entry ATS Officer (Lieutenant) appointment must hold: A valid Air Traffic Controller licence issued by a National Military Authority or a valid Air Traffic Controller licence issued in accordance with European Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340, Commission Regulation (EU) 805/2011 or Directive 2006/23/EC, containing: Aerodrome Control Surveillance (ADC/SUR) or Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) rating endorsement, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience exercising this endorsement, AND An English Language Proficiency Certificate of at least Operational Level 4 or higher, issued in accordance with the requirements set out in point ATCO.B.030 to Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 as applicable. Applicants will be expected to have suitable experience in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine (GIM) and to have specialist registration in Geriatrics & GIM with the Irish Medical Council. On call is 1 in 6. There is also a commitment to teaching and educationally supervising medical students and NCHDs. This role will be predominantly focused on delivering an inpatient & outpatient services to older adults presenting with frailty in line with the National Clinical Programme for Older People and Integrated Care Programme for Older People guidance. The role will also include participating in rostered consultant supervision to on-site medical Assessment Unit which sees a large number of older patients requiring comprehensive assessment. Clinical supervision and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level will also be an important aspect of this role.
