Community Engagement Officer
CONTEXT: Bryson Pathways has developed an innovative approach to supporting individuals and families in crisis. The Root Cause model of delivery aims to end poverty at its root by breaking generational cycles of high deprivation in priority areas. The goal is to make the greatest difference to the greatest need by providing multiple points of entry for targeted support in Root Cause communities. MAIN TASK: The Community Engagement Officer will play a key role in driving strategic community engagement, seeking opportunities for collaboration, and advocating for the community. The successful candidate will actively promote Bryson services and ensure that community leaders and stakeholders are informed about available support. The role involves attending community events, building relationships, and working closely with the Community Development Manager to deliver the organisation’s overall strategy and outcomes. The Officer will engage with individuals, families, schools, and local groups to identify community needs and address them through Bryson’s initiatives, aligned with the five themes: Health, Education, Income, Employment, and Environment. Good Relations Officer
The postholder will be responsible for the development, delivery and review of the Good Relations Strategy and Action Plan for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. Working alongside a team with a commitment to work with communities, relevant organisations and key stakeholders the post holder will co-ordinate a range of community relations/cultural diversity programmes. Mayne House is a residential service in Bangor, Co Down. Mayne House is registered with RQIA to provide residential care to 9 service users with learning disability. The service provides 24 hour tailored care. Croft Lodge is a seven bed wheelchair friendly respite unit which provides adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to come and enjoy a break with us. This service provides 24 hour tailored care and allows main carers to avail of a break to recharge. The Role: The role of Support Worker always requires a team approach with effective working relationships for the benefit of the service user. This includes: Assist service users with activities of daily living and facilitate inclusion of service users in a broad range of activities. Support service users with identified personal care and support needs. Support Workers are required to work flexibly and be available to work unsociable hours and public holidays on a rotational basis.
