Care Assistants An Tuath Nua, Montenotte, Cork City Applications are invited for the above positions to be based in An Tuath Nua, Montenotte, Cork. An Tuath Nua is a day service for young adults with an intellectual disability and autism. Successful candidates will work as part of a team to promote independence in the lives of the people we support through a variety of programmes. These include social skills training, computer literacy, community integration, personal care programs, sensory development, and numeracy and literacy programs, each adapted to the service users’ level of need. An Tuath Nua strives to be as person centred as possible and aim to assist in the holistic development of each individual. Salary: The 13-point salary scale for the post as of 01/06/2026. €34,881, €36,034, €37,602, €38,122, €38,965, €40,603, €42,362, €42,976, €44,504, €45,647, €46,578, €47,624, €48,434 LSI Pease note that successful candidates will commence on point 1 of the Care Assistant scale unless they have previous service directly with the HSE or a Section 38 agency in which case relevant service may be taken into account for salary placement. New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies. Location Montenotte Area (this is subject to change based on the operational needs of the service) Hours of Work 39 hours per week. Dietitian
There are over 40 dietitians at the Mater Hospital. The dietitians work with inpatients and outpatients across all the Mater specialties including the National Centre for Cardiothoracic Surgery and Heart and Lung Transplantation, National Centre for Spinal Injuries, Adult National Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD) and the National Centre for HIPEC surgery as well as being a Cancer Centre. This Dietitian post is rotational and the appointee will be assigned to different clinical areas every 7-9 months We use NCP assessment and diagnosis steps in our work, and include physical assessment. Cardiac Physiologist
The role of the Basic Cardiac Physiologist is to deliver high quality, informed by latest guidelines, cardiac diagnostics for patients who require the care of services under the umbrella of Cardiac Investigations . To achieve this, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfil a hands-on diagnostic role on a daily basis within the assigned clinical area. They will be expected to engage in a process of contribute their technical knowledge and acquired clinical acumen, consistent with the operating procedures and guidelines for MMUH, to ensure patient care is fully optimised in line with the departmental aspiration to achieve a high technical quality and deliver diagnostics in an efficient and compassionate manner. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate continuous professional development and exploit fully, in partnership with the Clinical Specialist Cardiac Physiologists, the academic support available to the clinical workforce both within the Department of Cardiology and, where considered clinically beneficial, from other colleagues partnered to the profession. Clinical Skills Facilitator
The primary purpose of the post of the Clinical Skills Facilitator, Acute Floor is to provide clinical support, education and instruction to Nurses in developing skills and competencies in order to fulfil their roles and responsibilities within their scope of practice. The role involves : Quality assurance of clinical practice by promoting high standards of evidenced based, safe, effective and quality nursing care, which results in positive outcomes for the patient. To provide clinical education to Registered Nurses to support them to become competent skilled and professional members of the Multidisciplinary Team who provide exemplary nursing care to patients and their families who access SLGH. Support Registered Nurses in developing skills and competencies in order to fulfil their roles and responsibilities in an ever changing health service. Develop and co-ordinate Study Days in response to service needs. Work as part of the Nurse Practice Development Team on the development, review and implementation of SLGH’s PPPG’s. To work as part of the Nurse Practice Development Team continuously evaluating and developing nursing practice within the hospital, and will have responsibility as project lead on specific initiatives. Develop, review and implementation Action Plans from Clinical Audit results. Support the CNM in the implementation and review of Performance Improvement Plans, assisting in the clinical area as required.
