Medical Scientist Haematology Laboratory
Purpose of the Role The post holder will support the delivery of a quality laboratory service in compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 15189 in the Haematology department. The successful candidate may be required to work across CHI sites and services in line with organisational requirements and the development of the new children’s hospital and associated services. Essential Criteria: · Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University of Dublin, or · Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork - Cork Institute of Technology course; or · (A) Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin St., or the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994; or · (B) Possess Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or Cork Institute of Technology or the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (awarded prior to 1997) or · A recognised qualification at least equivalent to (A) or (B) above; and · Be a member, or be eligible for membership, of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) and · Be registered with CORU How to Apply & Informal Enquiries Applications for this post must be accompanied by a cover letter, setting out relevant experience that illustrates how the essential criteria listed above are met.
