Business Development Coordinator
OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE: Working as part of the Business Development team, you will be responsible for assisting with the management & growth of client accounts and ensuring continuity of service. The main objective of the position is to generate site specific and global technical proposals for clinical trial packaging and distribution based on client’s requirements, while accounting for changes in scope throughout the lifecycle of the project. You will work directly with Business Development Field Sales Managers and Clinical Services technical teams to develop packaging and distribution strategies, ensuring these are costed accurately in the proposal and within the required timeframe. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will: Liaise with multinational pharmaceutical companies to define their clinical trial packaging and distribution requirements and provide technical guidance as required. Prepare detailed site specific and global proposals based on client requirements for submission within the requested timeframe. This will involve liaising with several internal departments (Project Management, Operations, Engineering and Design, Logistics and Procurement) to collate price and lead time information to be presented within the proposal. Collaborate with other Almac Business Units as appropriate to ensure services required are outlined in the proposal. Liaise with the Engineering/Design and Operations departments to develop a packaging strategy that meets the needs of the client’s trial and is most efficient based on Almac Clinical Services production equipment. Work with the Design Team to ensure that any externally purchased components meet the needs of the trial, are competitively priced, and arrive within the required timeframe. Accurately generate pricing for each service area required, using a range of quoting tools and calculators. Ensuring any standard pricing or margins are applied when necessary. Enter client and proposal information into an Oracle ERP system, for generation of the proposal document and to allow for accurate & timely generation of invoices upon completion of work. Evaluate and review proposals to ensure they are detailed, accurate, high-quality, competitive and in line with the client requirements. If required, discuss pricing with the relevant Business Development/Key Account Manager or Senior Management to ensure agreement in the Proposal Budget prior to submission. Ensure client requirements are clearly communicated across all Almac Clinical Services sites/departments. Organise meetings as needed to resolve queries and ensure that any uncertainties that exist at the time of proposal generation are confirmed before work commences. Revise proposals/study budgets as necessary to accommodate adjustments in project scope, ensuring timely communication with all internal stakeholders to support the implementation of necessary changes. Process Quote Change Requests (QCRs) with efficiency to ensure proposals are updated and accurately reflect the revised scope of work. Manage quote versioning and ensure all documentation is stored appropriately on Content Suite. Promptly investigate and address invoice queries and Finance exception reports, while considering impact to the overall study budget. Support the Business Development Field Sales Managers by taking responsibility for the above tasks and general client communications on their behalf. During periods of high volume work requests this role will require additional coverage beyond normal working hours and it is a condition of your employment that you are able to fulfil this requirement of the role.
