St Raphael’s Service is an adult Intellectual Disability Service situated in East Cork. It currently caters for circa 80 adults with an ID and / or Autism. The service has a base in Youghal and has a number of Community Houses in the surrounding environment of West Waterford and East Cork. The aim of our services for people with an ID and physical or sensory disabilities is to promote and maintain better health both in the person with a disability and their carer. General Accountability The person chosen will: Clinical 1. Provision of Obstetric & Gynecological services at The Coombe Hospital 2. Responsibility for education, training and audit in relation to these services. 3. Involvement and provision of services at the Coombe 4. Other commitments as maybe required to the Master/CEO and CCOO 5. On Call commitment to The Coombe Hospital 6. To attend at TCH and at such times as may be determined by the TCH and in emergencies as required, and to remain in attendance there at as long as his/her services are required. 7. To attend at any clinic or site maintained by the TCH within the group catchment as appropriate and to provide either there or in the appropriate hospital such diagnostic, treatment or consultation service as may be appropriate. 8. To participate in development of and undertake all duties and functions pertinent to the Consultant’s area of competence, as set out within the Service Plan/TCH in line with policies as specified by the Employer. 9. To ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that minimizes delays for patients and possible disruption of services. 10. To provide, as appropriate, consultation in the Consultant’s area of designated expertise in respect of patients of other Consultants at their request. 11. To provide teaching and lectures as required in the hospitals for student midwives/nurses, other midwives/nurses in training and other staff. 12. To supervise and be responsible for diagnosis, treatment and care provided by non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs) treating patients under the Consultant’s care 13.
