Information Officer
Job Summary Family Carers Ireland’s Counselling Service aims to support and enhance family carers’ mental health and emotional wellbeing by providing a safe, non-judgemental, therapeutic space for them to discuss and work through any challenges or difficult feelings they are experiencing. The Information Officer (IO) will support the delivery of Family Carers Ireland’s National Counselling Service. This will involve communicating sensitively and appropriately with family carers referred to the service who are experiencing high levels of psychological distress. The Information Officer will be responsible for: Processing all referrals to the service. Liaising with family carers to schedule intake appointments and ensure they are supported to access the service as needed. Providing administrative support to staff counsellors, volunteers, and the external panel as required. Supporting the processing of payments. Providing IT support on the use of the CORE Net system. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Minimum Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) and further studies in Office Administration or IT. At least 2 years' experience working in a busy office environment. Qualification or further learning in mental health, counselling, social care, or a related field. Experience working remotely with excellent broadband access. Ability to prioritise tasks and work within a dynamic environment. Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience setting up video calls using platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Flexible attitude and approach to work, with a willingness to help others. Reflective approach to work, with a willingness to learn and implement a culture of continuous improvement. Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail. Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and keep stakeholders informed. Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with a diverse range of people. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Experience working in a highly confidential environment. Fundraising experience is desirable. Full driver's licence with access to own car. Role Criteria Hybrid/Remote. Permanent contract. 37 hours per week (full-time), Monday to Friday. Family Carers Ireland is an Equal Opportunities Employer. Programme Description The CyberQuest initiative aims to transform the lives of young people aged 16 to 25 in Northern Ireland and the border counties by reducing economic inactivity and enhancing their ICT and digital skills, particularly in cyber security. Targeting those not in, or far from, education, employment, or training, the project seeks to foster meaningful community relations and positively impact participants' lives. Foróige is partnering with youth organisations including Springvale Training, Youth Action Northern Ireland, and Bytes (lead partner) to access economically inactive young people. The programme partners also include REIM Training Solutions Limited, providing expertise in IT and digital skills. The CyberQuest initiative integrates youth work principles through a learner-led, person-centred methodology delivered by youth work staff. This ensures tailored, evidence-informed support, helping to address participants' challenges while facilitating re-engagement and ongoing support. The appointed staff member will be responsible for recruiting participants to the CyberQuest programme across Cavan-Monaghan, designing and facilitating personal and social development programmes, and supporting participants to engage in a range of accredited ICT and Digital Skills training programmes (such as Cyber Security Awareness and ICDL) delivered by the project partner, REIM. The personal and social development programme, as part of Work Package 1, will include: Travel This post will involve some domestic travel within Ireland and occasional meetings. Travel and expenses will be paid in accordance with the appropriate Foróige rates.

Youth Officer
Key Responsibilities The Youth Officer will be employed by Foróige and will be given a contract of employment. It must be understood, however, that if the position becomes redundant at any time during the period of the contract, if the funding for the post is discontinued, or if a post holder fails to perform satisfactorily, employment may be terminated. Key Responsibilities The duties of the Youth Officer shall be notified by the Board of Foróige and/or their nominee. The function is achieved through fulfilling the main duties outlined below:
