We currently have a vacancy for a Lecturer in Computing JOB PURPOSE To become a member of the teaching team in current courses of study and assist with future developments. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 1. Hold GCSE English (Grade A-C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication; and GCSE Maths (Grade A-C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules; 2. Hold a University Degree in Computing or a discipline with IT OR Hold a qualification in Computing or a discipline with IT which is at least Level 5 on the National Qualification Framework (NQF – revised September 2004) or on the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) AND Have 3 years relevant industrial, professional or business experience. 3. Demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas, in an academic or industrial/professional context; Programming in at least one of the following languages: Java C# .NET Mobile App development Networking 4. Demonstrate the ability to prioritise and organise given tasks and objectives 5. Demonstrate a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team 6. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral. DESIRABLE CRITERIA 1. Head Of Learner Success
Permanent, Full-time (36 hours per week) The primary location for this post is Belfast Met's Titanic Quarter Campus. However, the post holder may be required to work at any of the College’s campuses or locations to meet operational requirements. Job Purpose: Provide strategic leadership for the College learner success agenda, ensuring an outstanding learner experience from recruitment through to achievement, progression, and destination outcomes. The postholder will lead a portfolio of learner-facing services, ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and compliant provision that supports learner engagement, wellbeing, retention, and success. The postholder will act as the College’s senior professional lead within the assigned portfolio, including the role of Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing authoritative advice, constructive challenge and assurance to the Director, Executive Leadership Team, and relevant College governance committees. The role holds delegated responsibility for departmental performance, people, budgets, service quality, relevant statutory, regulatory policies and compliance, risk management, and learner outcomes across the portfolio.
Apprenticeship Liaison Officer
The post holder will support the Apprenticeship Manager in the coordination and management of students on Apprenticeship programmes in line with the Department for the Economy (DfE) Operational Requirements (ORs) and undertake a key role in coordinating all activity to ensure maximum funding drawdown, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for accurate record keeping for audit purposes. The postholder will be responsible for preparing and completing all necessary documentation and keying data to and updating data stored in the Training and Apprenticeship Management System (TAMS) or agreed payment system. The postholder will act as a key link between the College’s Work Based Learning (WBL) & Training team, apprentices and employers. Casual Events Assistant
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with the delivery of Council run events whether in one of the Council owned facilities or at another location within the council area. Assist with events admin, including preparation of documentation for events and meetings. Assist with sourcing and preparing props and resources required for events and animation programs. Assist with dressing venues and costumes. Assisting with event registrations, collecting tickets or payments when required. Distributing event flyers as required. Assisting at an information booth, dealing with lost children or lost property, and overseeing registration at events. Undergoing training as required, to ensure duties are fulfilled safely and effectively. Adhering to council policies and procedures regarding equipment/materials and resources, e.g. radios, high visibility vests etc. Be flexible with working hours and work locations as many public events take place at weekends and evenings and bank holidays throughout the council area. Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post. Experience Driving - Access to a form of transport which will permit the post holder to carry out the duties of the post in full.
