Person Requirements: Educated to degree level or equivalent experience that demonstrates ability. Relevant Communications/Advocacy/Marketing/PR qualification. At least two years’ experience of working successfully in a senior role within a not-for-profit or communications/advocacy/PR/ marketing environment. General Requirements While the line manager is specified above, this does not preclude other senior roles from directing or reviewing work or setting dotted line collaborative working relationships between same or different level positions. Senior Occupational Therapist In Orthopaedics

The Senior Occupational Therapist will lead the delivery of a responsive Occupational Therapy service for children and adolescents within the Spinal and Orthopaedics multidisciplinary team in CHI at Crumlin. This caseload contains a mix of inpatient and day unit caseloads including children admitted for elective surgeries (e.g. Scoliosis surgery, Limb Reconstruction, Developmental Dysplasia of Hip, Amputations) and trauma admissions. Interventions can include rehabilitation, equipment prescription and provision, postural management, developmental input and supporting discharge home. Liaison with community teams is a key part of this role. The post-holder will work collaboratively with children and families admitted for surgeries who may have complex co-morbidities and levels of disability. The post-holder will play a key role in the management of the cross-site OT equipment loan service to support clinical outcomes and hospital discharge. The post holder will maintain appropriate clinical competencies to work across the orthopaedic service, whilst supporting junior members of staff to carry out their clinical duties. Essential Criteria: · Be registered as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU with the registration number listed on the CV. The post holder will work as part of the surgical Multidisciplinary Teams to assess and treat the following patient groups: - Children with burn injuries in both inpatient and outpatient settings. - Children with acute hand trauma managed both conservatively and surgically. - Children with congenital hand differences.
