This apprenticeship fosters professional growth, teamwork, and meaningful work that impacts global healthcare.You will be trained to possess the following skills: <ul><li>Demonstrating the ability to operate equipment and instruments effectively and according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). </li><li>Showing the ability to work effectively in a safe manner within the laboratory. </li><li>Communicating the theoretical knowledge of relevant sciences and technology. </li><li>Handling materials and equipment correctly paying due regard to safety and environmental protection regulations. </li><li>Capability to perform basic chemistry techniques to include but not limited to the use of: Pipettes, Auto-Titrators, pH, Weighing, Diluting to Volume, Volumetric Calculations, Karl Fischer, Thin Layer Chromatography, and Physical Testing. </li><li>Ability to identify and note equipment (foe sampling, testing and control) malfunction if it occurs, and informing the QC Team Leader. </li></ul>You will acquire the following knowledge: <ul><li>Understanding science fundamentals, basic chemistry, microbiology, and production processes (upstream/downstream).</li><li>Knowledge of cGMP, quality systems, GLP/GMP deficiencies, and data integrity principles.</li><li>Safe lab operations, housekeeping, proper labelling, calibration, and equipment use.</li><li>Handling, logging, and testing of samples e.g., water, raw materials, in-process, finished products.</li><li>Familiarity with pharmacopoeias and investigation processes e.g., OOS.</li><li>Awareness of QC purchase systems, supplier coordination, and proper reporting protocols.</li></ul>You will strengthen the following soft skills: <ul><li>Effective communication and team work. </li><li>Good technical writing skills. </li><li>Working independently and taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks. </li><li>Understanding impact of work on others, especially where related to diversity and equality. </li><li>Time management and ability to complete work to schedule.</li><li>Ability to handle change and respond to change management processes. </li></ul>How you will contribute:<ul><li>Ensure that Accident Reports / Near Miss Forms are completed in a timely manner after an event. </li><li>Participate fully in any cross functional training initiatives. </li><li>Drive and promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace. </li><li>Ensure timely completion of all SOP, reading, training and assessment. </li><li>Other duties as required and directed.</li></ul>In this position you will report to the QC Team Leader.What you bring to Takeda: <ul><li>For entry into year 1 of Level 6 Quality Control Apprenticeship Programme you must have passed (Grade O6 or better) in five Leaving Certificate subjects, one of which must be math and one science related subject and gathered 250 CAO points OR you can also enter the Programme, if you have graduated relevant FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 and are a current employee with relevant experience and qualifications. </li><li>Before enrolment on the apprenticeship programme the apprentice must have SOLAS apprentice approval. </li><li>Health, Safety and Environmental awareness. </li><li>Ability to share knowledge and expertise with others. </li><li>Engage in teamwork. </li><li>Complete integrity and compliance programs. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Problem solving &amp; critical thinking. </li><li>Microsoft Office skills in MS Excel and MS Word. </li><li>Mathematics and statistics knowledge. </li><li>Proven continuous professional development. </li></ul>What Takeda can offer you: <ul><li>Flexible working arrangements, e.g., hybrid or shiftwork with shift allowance </li><li>26 vacation days plus additional days for service milestones </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Wellbeing and engagement teams </li><li>Development opportunities </li><li>Educational programs and formal training </li><li>Coaching and mentoring </li><li>Humanitarian volunteering leave options </li><li>Subsidized canteen</li><li>Electric charging points available at parking locations </li></ul>
