Clare County Council will, following the interview process, form a panel for the post of I.S. Project Leader (GIS & Innovation) Grade 7 from which future relevant vacancies may be filled subject to sanction approval from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. The team for Separated Children Seeking International Protection has the responsibility for providing a service to children and young people who are newly arrived in Ireland seeking international protection and who are separated from their parents or their guardian. The team provides valuable support to these most vulnerable children/young people from various countries who come to Ireland for safety, refuge, and better quality of life and as applicants for International Protection. The aim is to assist the young people in achieving their full potential through education and integration, to participate fully in Irish life and make a meaningful contribution to Irish Society through self-sufficiency and independence. To be supported with reunification where immediate family members join them in Ireland, escaping persecution, war and marginalisation in their country of origin. The service is multifaceted with operational responsibility for Intake, Duty and Initial Assessment of children and young people notified to Tusla by the IPO under the International Protection Act (IPA) 2015; for the intake eligibility assessment of such referred young people to determine their eligibility for service under the Child Care Act, for the placement of the young person. The service also manages teams for Children in Care and beneficiaries of temporary protection fleeing war in Ukraine and Subject to Placements under Section 5 of the 1991 Child Care Act; the provision of alternative care placements to Unaccompanied minors in Foster Care, Residential Care, Supported Lodgings and After Care Services. The team is expanding and involved in extensive service review and development. It is a multicultural team with a strong team ethos committed to meeting the needs of all service users. Purpose of Role The policy of Tusla Child and Family Agency is to enable children / young people to live with their own families wherever possible and to support parents where necessary in fulfilling that role. The Social Care Worker will provide care, protection, and support to vulnerable or dependent clients, individually or in groups, in conjunction with the wider multidisciplinary team and other relevant agencies. Maintain recurring Payments file for monthly processing of payments ·       Keep up to date with current environmental protection, H&S, fire and building regulations; Grant availability; Energy initiatives. ·       Ensure asset safeguarding through stocktakes or spot audits ·       Provide information and prepare reports as required for Management, Health Service Executive (“HSE”), internal / external auditors or other bodies ·       Line manager for Facilities Department staff ·       Ensure the Clare Services are represented on the National Facilities working group Transport Management ·       Develop and implement Clare transport management strategy and plan ·       Energy Lead in relation to motor vehicles and related equipment / services. Promote use of alternative energy efficient motor vehicles to achieve BOCSI Green targets. Identify sources of funding. Advise management in relation to Green efficiency and procurement. ·       Lead the roll out of new initiatives in fleet management and telematic systems ·       Responsible for keeping up-to-date and archiving documents associated with the transport role ·       For insurance purposes, ensure statutory insurance inspections are completed for all lifting equipment and timely close out of actions. Review motor vehicle incidents as required. Manage NNIMS motor vehicle reporting process. ·       Manage motor vehicle leases & rentals as per BOCSI policy. Maintain Recurring Payments file for monthly processing of payments ·       Process Revenue Online Services reclaims for Drivers and Passengers with disabilities scheme ·       Advise staff / increase awareness on environmental protection and safe driving for work ·       Keep up to date with current motor vehicle regulations and Green initiatives ·       Ensure asset safeguarding through stocktakes or spot audits ·       Provide information and prepare reports as required for Management, HSE, Internal / External auditors or other bodies ·       Ensure the Clare Services are represented on the BOCSI National Transport & Energy working groups and Section 38/39 Cross HSE Agency and SEAI working group. ·       Liaise / meet with the RSA or designated bodies in relation to vehicle inspections and provide documentation as required during inspection Flexibility Employees are expected to have a high level of flexibility and a willingness and ability to develop new approaches to their work. Duties and responsibilities of any post in the Services are likely to change with the ongoing needs and developments of the Services. Employees will therefore be required to carry out such other duties appropriate to their employment as may be assigned to the post holder from time to time. The candidate may be required to take calls out of normal working hours.
