Key Duties and Responsibilities The main duties and responsibilities of this role include: • General clerical duties – typing, filing, photocopying, inputting data, handling/dealing with correspondence, answering/making phone calls, etc. • Processing, auditing, and examination of various documentation • Managing high volumes of data input and validation • Front line communication with the public/customers (internal and external), e.g., responding to queries and providing information in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone, and via email • Providing secretarial support for meetings and taking minutes when required • Maintaining complete and accurate files and records, for example, by using the Authority’s data system or other filing systems that are in place • Providing reception cover, e.g., operating the switchboard, answering and directing calls, greeting visitors, logging post/cheques, etc. • Supporting supervisors and colleagues as required • Working as part of a team to deliver high quality services • Completing routine accounts work • Complying with any duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Port Officer or Senior Manager Note This job specification is intended as a basic guide to the scope and responsibilities of the position. The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Swiss citizens under EU agreements may also apply. General: The appointment is to a Clerical Officer post on a permanent contract and is subject to the Civil Service Regulations Acts 1956 to 2005, the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Act 2004, the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006 (No. 8 of 2006), and any other Act for the time being in force relating to the Civil or Public Service. Pay: The basic salary for the position (rates effective from 1st March 2025) is the Clerical Officer PPC scale of €590.21 – €918.93 per week (which includes two long service increments). Tenure: This is a permanent position. The appointee will be required to serve a 12-month probationary period. Location: This role will be based in Killybegs, Co. Donegal. Meetings may take place at locations around Ireland. When absent from home and place of employment on official duty, the appointee will be paid appropriate travelling expenses and subsistence allowances, subject to normal civil service regulations/public sector regulations. Hours of Attendance: Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 41 hours 15 minutes gross per week or 35 hours net per week. The appointee will be required to work such additional hours from time to time as may be reasonable and necessary for the proper performance of his/her duties, subject to the limits set down in the working time regulations. Rest Periods: The terms of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997 will apply to this appointment. Annual Leave: In addition to the standard public holidays, the annual leave for this position is a minimum of 22 days per annum, rising to: • 23 after 5 years • 24 after 10 years • 25 after 12 years • 26 after 14 years service in the grade Sick Leave: Pay during properly certified sick absence, provided there is no evidence of permanent disability for service, will apply on a pro-rata basis during probation, in accordance with the provisions of the sick leave circulars.

Position Description The team member in the Networks Training Centre administration function is responsible for supporting the effective and efficient delivery of training for ESB Networks. The ESB Networks Training Centre is a dynamic location that serves a diverse group, including both ESB staff and external parties. Additionally, it is the central hub for ESB's apprenticeship program, which currently trains over 300 apprentices. This role is service-oriented and primarily involves managing reception duties at the NTC. It also encompasses a variety of administrative tasks related to the Networks Training Centre, including those associated with course delivery and the accurate recording of related information. Key Responsibilities The role includes a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: Salary €32,000 - €38,000 per annum.

The role of the firefighter is: · To save life and preserve endangered life. · Protection of property from damage by fire and from firefighting measures. · To render humanitarian services. · To inform and educate your community to improve awareness of safety. A firefighter must be: · at least 18 years of age on appointment · physically fit and agile with good stamina · able to work in hazardous conditions for long periods, including at heights and in confined spaces · mechanically adept with good dexterity and co-ordination · trustworthy, honest, dependable and generally of good character (see Garda Clearance) · self-reliant and self-assured with a keen sense of discipline · able to contribute to, and work within a team · able to understand and memorise technical information · able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Health and Safety Health and Safety forms a key part in the role of every firefighter. i. It shall be the duty of every firefighter while at work: (a) to take reasonable care for his/her own safety, health and welfare and that of any other person who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions while at work; (b) to co-operate with his/her employer and any other person to such extent as will enable his/her employer or the other person to comply with any of the relevant statutory provisions; (c) to use in such manner so as to provide the protection intended, any suitable appliance, protective clothing, convenience, equipment or other means or thing provided (whether for his/her use alone or for use by him/her in common with others) for securing his/her safety, health or welfare while at work; and (d) to report to his/her employer or his/her immediate superior, without unreasonable delay, any defects in plant, equipment, place of work or system of work, which might endanger safety, health or welfare, of which he/she becomes aware. ii. Garda Clearance The Service is in a position of trust with the public and has a duty to protect them. If you have a record of an offence, this will not necessarily disqualify you as all applications are considered strictly on their merit. However, you are required to declare any offence for which you have been convicted. You are advised to declare any charges that are pending; a subsequent conviction could lead to you being discharged from the Service. If you fail to disclose information when required to do so, this will render your application void and if you have been employed may result in termination of employment. A Garda clearance check will be carried out prior to your appointment to the Service. Should you be charged with an offence between the date of the application or appointment you must notify the Service in writing, as this may affect your employment in the Service. Training Retained Firefighters are required to attend and pass a three-week initial training course. To complete this training, each recruit will be required to attend a training centre selected by the Chief Fire Officer. The main purpose is to teach practical Firefighting skills incorporating search and rescue, and the safe use of equipment such as ladders, pumps and hose. This is followed by two weeks Breathing Apparatus training at a later stage. Failure to satisfactorily complete these training courses will demonstrate a lack of suitability for the position of Retained Firefighter and may result in termination of employment. On completion of the initial training, the recruit firefighter is required to undertake a recruit induction and development program over a specified period of time designed to equip them with the necessary skills in performing the duties assigned to them by the Chief Fire Officer. This will involve an ongoing requirement to attend and pass subsequent training and refresher training courses. Each Retained Firefighter is also required to attend a weekly 2 hour drill night and a 3 day block training course typically held in the Spring. Attendance at training is mandatory. This may result in absences from your current employment/career.
