WHAT IS METAL FABRICATION The skills are wide and varied, skills such as measuring, marking out, cutting and welding materials. Learning how to use, care and safety operate machinery and equipment ie: Press Brake, Guillotine, Drills, Cutting etc... Welding mild steel, Aluminium , Stainless Steel, Making a livestock body from start to finish, repairing a trailer, repairing agriculture machinery and the odd unusual item. All metal fabrication will be trained in the following, working with a variety of specialised tools: Lather, Milling Machine, Grinders etc.. Assembling new machinery, dismantling repairs/make & fitting of new parts, report writing of completed work. PAY We pay all our apprentices the recommended wage set by the ETB. Review it after 3 months (A well adjusted candidate will be offered above the recommended wage.) A training allowance paid by the local ETB while the apprentices attending the off-the job training. What is a Naval Service Recruit A Naval Service Recruit enlists for General Service in the Other Ranks of the Defence Forces. After successfully completing the initial Recruit Training course a recruit passes out as an Ordinary Seaman and will then go onto their Branch Training Course before becoming qualified as an Able Body sailor in the Naval Service. Who we want Naval Service Recruits go on to form the backbone of the Irish Naval Service. Recruit training is 22 weeks in duration and is designed to develop a physically fit, disciplined and motivated person using basic military and naval skills in order to prepare them for further training in the Service. Recruits are instilled with the Naval Service ethos and the values of Courage, Respect, Integrity and Loyalty. On successful completion of the Recruit training, the Recruit is advanced to the training rank of Ordinary Rating (equivalent of 2 Star Private in the Army). The Ordinary Rate commences their chosen Branch training giving them the specialised skills required to fulfil their role at sea and ashore. Purpose of Role: Under the direction of the Financial Controller, the Finance Officer will work as part of the Corporate Services team to support the financial reporting process in the WDC. Office Location: The WDC is a remote-first organisation with its head office in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon, staff are also located in Galway, Letterkenny, and Sligo. The successful candidate may seek to be located in Ballaghaderreen, Galway, Letterkenny or Sligo in line with the remote working policy of the WDC. We promote in-person collaboration and attendance at our offices located in Sligo, Galway, Letterkenny and Ballaghaderreen, when it is required or warranted. New staff or those on probation may initially work on-site more frequently until completing role induction, as decided by their manager or the CEO Travel: Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will hold a full driving licence and have access to transport as this post will involve travel nationally in support of the seven county Western Region. When absent from home and your designated office location on official duty, you will be paid appropriate travelling expenses and subsistence allowances, in accordance with Civil Service regulations. Hours of Attendance: Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 40 hours gross per week (35 hours net). The successful candidate will be required to work such additional hours from time to time as may be reasonable and necessary for the proper performance of his/her duties subject to the limits set down in the working time regulations. The rate of remuneration payable covers any extra attendance liability that may arise from time to time. Annual Leave: The annual leave allowance will be 23 working days a year. This leave is on the basis of a five-day week and is exclusive of the usual public holidays. Sick Leave: Pay during properly certified sick absence, provided there is no evidence of permanent disability for service, will apply on a pro-rata basis, in accordance with the provisions of the sick leave circulars. Officers who will be paying Class A rate of PRSI will be required to sign a mandate authorising the Department of Social Protection to pay any benefits due under the Social Welfare Acts directly to the employing Organisation. Payment during illness will be subject to the officer making the necessary claims for social insurance benefit to the Department of Social Protection within the required time limits. Superannuation: The successful candidate will be offered the appropriate superannuation terms and conditions as prevailing in the Civil Service at the time of being offered an appointment. In general, an appointee who has never worked in the Public Service will be offered appointment based on membership of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme (“Single Scheme”). Full details of the Scheme are at www.singlepensionscheme.gov.ie Where the appointee has worked in a pensionable (non-Single Scheme terms) public service job in the 26 weeks prior to appointment or is currently on a career break or special leave with/without pay different terms may apply. The pension entitlement of such appointees will be established in the context of their public service employment history.
