Administrative Officer

The Job The Administrative Officer (Grade VII) is a middle management position in WWETB and is assigned responsibility for the management of one or more sections within a Department handling the ETBs activities. He/She is responsible for the day to day operations of the section(s) and is a contributor to the strategic and policy making decisions of WWETB. He/She will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of forward thinking strategies and to work closely with relevant APO and Director(s) in delivering services to the highest standard. The Administrative Officer may represent WWETB on committees and at meetings and may be asked to report on progress in his/her respective sections at various meetings. Main Duties:  Managing Contracts/Leave team within the HR department  Managing CID process for all staff  Lead the review, development and implementation of processes, policies and procedures in HR  Support the HR Manager in negotiations/dealings with FÓRSA/TUI/SIPTU  Interpretation & implementation of Department circulars  Payroll sign off  Responsible for responding to requests for information from DoE/ETBI  Initiate and manage a programme of work relating to Training & Development of staff, including associated policies, guidelines and processes  HR and related project management and support as required  Supporting the HR manager in all aspects of employment and industrial relations  Other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the HR Manager, Director of Organisation Support and Development or nominee. Essential Requirements  Have the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out the role as defined above. Competencies will be informed by best practice Public Appointment Service competency frameworks for the Irish Public Service;  Be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high standard;  Have obtained at least a Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied or vocational programmes) or equivalent or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise; Desirable Requirements  At least 3 years’ experience in a HR role at an appropriate level in the public, private or voluntary sector.  Experience of leading/managing change within an organisation.  Supervisory experience Salary Salary will be paid in accordance with such rates as may be authorised by the Minister for Education and Skills from time to time for Grade VII positions. Entry point to this scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Department of Education and Skills. Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy. The starting salary for this post is €50,832. Closing date: 4:00pm on Friday 22 January 2021.
