The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of work programmes to achieve goals and targets. The post holder will be required to be flexible, and undertake duties to support the work of the School as a whole. The post holder will promote and maintain best practices throughout the School to ensure a quality service is delivered at all times. The post may include the supervision of small groups of staff, usually of one level, on routine clearly defined tasks where the jobholder’s duties include the organisation of work and staff to achieve specific, usually cyclical targets. • Provide confidential and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the Principal. • Assist in the development of the school’s administrative/secretarial systems to ensure effective operation. • Maintain an effective administrative/secretarial system to process all paperwork and electronic communications within the school. • Deal with information requests and queries made via telephone, email, or face-to-face. • Process and distribute daily post and email. • Maintaining up-to-date computerised and manual accounts. • Maintaining Student Database and making returns to Department of Education. • Completion of weekly time-sheets or online claims, as required. • Organise provision of hospitality for school events, visitors to school etc. • To carry out the lawful orders of the Board and of its Chief Executive. • To carry out any other duties appropriate to the grade which may be assigned from time to time by the Principal. FINANCE • Monitoring, controlling and reconciling all financial allocations to the school (e.g. Main School Budget, Home/School Liaison, Free Book Scheme, Exam Fee Scheme, Special Technology Grants, Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied (the list is not exhaustive)) • Checking and ensuring accuracy of traders’ accounts, part-time teachers, teachers claim forms, travel claims, petty cash returns and postal franking machines. • Processing of invoices and payments • Use of WaY2Pay and collection of cash for use of premises, enrolment fees, book rental fees, telephone charges (including payphones) and occasional items such as school trips etc. • Ensuring all payments to the school are recorded, receipted, reconciled and lodged to the appropriate bank accounts. Located in South County Dublin and on the border with North Wicklow, St. Columcille’s has a national speciality in obesity management and the National Gender Service. In addition to general medicine, day surgery and care of the elderly, St. Columcille’s has an orthopaedic and Stroke Rehabilitation service. The Radiology Department at St Columcille’s Hospital provides Diagnostic imaging services for all inpatients, local injuries/ Medical Assessment Unit patients and OPD patients of the hospital and for all GP patients in the South Dublin, Wicklow region. A satellite Radiology Diagnostics Department will operate providing Ultrasound and General Radiography are available in the Bray Primary Care Centre. The Department is equipped with the following imaging modalities: General/ X-ray, CT, Ultrasound and DXA Scanning mobile X-ray, Fluoroscopy. Radiology Services are provided for SVUH. The Department participates in the Radiography student training programme UCD School of Diagnostic Imaging with onsite Clinical Tutors. Links are maintained between SVUH and St Michael's Hospital in proximity and within our Hospital Group. There is approximately 14 WTE Radiography staff including Staff grade, Senior, Clinical Specialist and RSM grades. The Radiology staff complement also includes Consultant Radiologists. Nursing staff, Clerical staff and Attendant/ Assistant staff. The Radiology Department in St Columcille’s Hospital provides Diagnostic Imaging Services to inpatients, outpatients, GP referrals, the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Assessment Unit. Radiology Services include General Radiography, CT, Ultrasound, DXA Scanning, and Fluoroscopy An on-call service operates currently 24/7 to facilitate referrals from the Emergency Department and In-patients. Reporting Relationship The post holders will report to the Radiology Services Manager (RSM) Purpose of the Post The post of Radiographer Clinical Specialist (Ultrasound) plays a pivotal role in service planning, coordination, and management of activities and allocated resources within the unit. The primary responsibilities are: quality assurance, scheduling workflow, staff development, facilitating communication and professional/clinical leadership. The Clinical Specialist Radiographer (Ultrasound) will be primarily responsible for ensuring that Ultrasound is performed to a high standard of technical quality in a caring and efficient manner and in line with established guidelines and operating procedures. The post holder must function integrally within the Radiology team and have scanning proficiency in the General and Vascular ultrasound areas. The post holder will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team and will lead, guide, and supervise radiographic and other staff to successfully manage the Ultrasound service, with effective utilisation of all allocated resources. AND iii) Possess a recognised postgraduate course relevant to the specialism (Quality & Qualifications Ireland Level 9) as recognised by the IIRRT and have no less than 4 years practical clinical experience working in the speciality. Practical clinical experience will include time assigned to work in the relevant specialist area but needs to comply with the following breakdown: · Pre commencement of a postgraduate course (maximum of 1 year* allowed); · Time spent completing the post graduate course (maximum of 1 year** allowed); · A minimum of 2 years’ experience* following completion of a postgraduate course. *A minimum of 12 weeks assigned to work in the relevant specialised area will be required for each relevant year to be counted. **The research component of a postgraduate programme will count towards the post course time once the Radiographer has successfully completed the taught components of the programme. Located in South County Dublin and on the border with north Wicklow, St. Columcille’s has a national speciality in obesity management and National Gender Service. In addition to general medicine, day surgery and care of the elderly, St. Columcille’s has an orthopaedic and Stroke Rehabilitation service. The Radiology Department at St Columcille’s Hospital provides Diagnostic imaging services for all inpatients, local injuries/ Medical Assessment Unit patients and OPD patients of the hospital and for all GP patients in the South Dublin, Wicklow region. A satellite Radiology Diagnostics Department will operate providing Ultrasound and General Radiography are available in the Bray Primary Care Centre. The Department is equipped with the following imaging modalities: General/ X-ray, CT, Ultrasound and DXA Scanning mobile X-ray, Fluoroscopy. Radiology Services are provided for SVUH. The Department participates in the Radiography student training programme UCD School of Diagnostic Imaging with onsite Clinical Tutors. Working Week The standard working week applying to the whole time equivalent of this post is: 35 hours. Annual Leave The annual leave associated with the whole time equivalent of this post is 30 days per annum. Superannuation This is a pensionable position with Tusla. The successful candidate will upon appointment become a member of the appropriate pension scheme. Pension scheme membership will be notified within the contract of employment. Probation A probation period of 39 weeks, or proportion of same for fixed term /specified purpose contracts, where applicable shall apply from the commencement of employment, during which the contract may be terminated by either party in accordance with this contract. The probationary period may be extended at the discretion of management by a further 9 weeks or proportion of same for fixed term/specified purpose contracts, where applicable. Confirmation of appointment as a permanent member of staff is subject to the successful completion of the probationary period, for permanent contracts. Where you have already completed a probationary period with the Child and Family Agency, Health Service Executive, Local Authority, and there is no break in service, no period of probation applies.
