General Services Supervisor
SECTION 1: THE ROLE Cork County Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience, who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which vacancies for General Services Supervisor Roads (Bandon/Kinsale MD) may be filled. The initial assignment for the position will be based in Kinsale, Co. Cork . The General Services Supervisor is an outdoor, frontline, supervisory line management role which includes responsibility for the management of staff. The General Services Supervisor is also one of the Council’s key representatives on the ground on a day-to-day basis and is often the first point of contact in emergency and crisis management situations. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, adaptable, and flexible person with a strong sense of commitment to delivering quality public services, who must also demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of: 4. Age Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant within the meaning of the Public Services Superannuation Act, 2004. A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 70 years of age. SECTION 4: TENURE The position is permanent and full-time. The post is pensionable. A panel may be created to fill vacancies for General Services Supervisor Roads (Bandon/Kinsale MD) which may arise over the lifetime of the panel. The local authority shall require a person to whom an appointment is offered to take up such appointment within a period of not more than one month and if they fail to take up the appointment within such period, or such longer period as the local authority in its absolute discretion may determine, the local authority shall not appoint them. SECTION 5: REMUNERATION The initial wage is €896.28 basic per week (point 1) on assignment, rising after training and satisfactory service by annual increments to €1,056.14 basic per week (point 10) . Where there is an increment entitlement, increments are paid subject to satisfactory attendance, conduct and performance. Entry point to this scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Department of Housing, Heritage and Local Government. Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy. SECTION 6: LOCATION OF POST The initial assignment for the position will be based in Kinsale, Co. Cork . The base for working purposes shall be the location as determined by Cork County Council. The person appointed may be requested to provide temporary cover in adjoining municipal districts, as required. Cork County Council reserves the right to assign you to any department, premises or district in use by the Council, now or in the future. Changes in location of employment will not result in payment of disturbance money or compensation. The successful applicant will be required to reside in the area in which the duties of the post are to be performed or at a location acceptable to the Council. SECTION 7: WORKING HOURS The working hours at present provide for a 5-day, 39-hour week . You may be required to work overtime as required from time to time. All hours worked will be subject to the provisions of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997 and the Organisation of Working Time Act (Regulations) 2001 . SECTION 8: ANNUAL LEAVE The current annual leave entitlement is 25 days per annum inclusive of Good Friday or on a pro-rata basis for the period. Notice of intention to take leave shall be given to the Council at least two weeks before proposed leave commences. Cork County Council’s leave year runs from 1st January to 31st December . Granting of annual leave, payment for annual leave, and arrangements for public holidays will be governed by the provisions of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997 (as amended). SECTION 9: TRANSPORTATION When required to do so, holders of the office shall hold a full driving licence for Class B Vehicles and shall drive a motor car in the course of their duties and for this purpose provide and maintain a car to the satisfaction of the local authority. Cork County Council may supply a van for use in connection with the work, which will be fitted with a GPS system and which will be monitored regularly.

Clerical Officer (Grade III)
About the Role CLERICAL OFFICER (Grade III) Duties, Qualifications & Particulars of Office The Person Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Particulars of Office Appointment A panel will be established for the post of Clerical Officer – Grade III which will be used to fill both permanent and temporary vacancies which may arise during the lifetime of the panel. The Regional Assembly shall require a person to whom an appointment is offered to take up such appointment within a period of not more than one month and if he/she fails to take up the appointment within such period or such longer period as the Regional Assembly in its absolute discretion may determine, the Regional Assembly shall not appoint him/her. Duration Positions filled from the permanent panel will be full-time and permanent, subject to a one-year probationary period. Positions filled from the temporary panel will be contingent on the duration of absence from duty of the post holder they are temporarily replacing and will not extend beyond this period. Superannuation Persons who become pensionable officers of a Regional Assembly and are liable to pay the Class A rate of PRSI contribution will be required, in respect of their superannuation, to contribute at the rate of 1.5% of their pensionable remuneration plus 3.5% of net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of the State Pension Contributory). Persons who become pensionable officers of a Regional Assembly and are liable to pay the Class D rate of PRSI contribution will be required, in respect of their superannuation, to contribute to the Regional Assembly at the rate of 5% of their pensionable remuneration. Widows and Orphans / Spouses and Children’s Scheme All persons who become pensionable officers of a Regional Assembly are required, in respect of the Local Government (Spouses and Children’s Contributory Pension) Scheme, 1986, to contribute to the Regional Assembly at the rate of 1.5% of net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of State Pension Contributory) in accordance with the terms of the Scheme. New Entrants from 1st January 2013 – Single Public Services Pension Scheme ‘A’ Officers / Non-Officers For new entrants recruited on or after 1st January 2013, as well as former public servants returning to the public service after a break of more than 26 weeks, the Public Service Pension (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012 applies to your employment. Members of this Scheme are required, in respect of superannuation, to contribute at the rate of 3% of pensionable remuneration plus 3.5% of net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of State Pension Contributory), and you are liable to pay the Class A rate of PRSI contribution. Place of Work The HQ of the Regional Assembly is in Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon. Probation / Performance Review Where a person who is not already a permanent officer of a Regional Assembly or Local Authority is appointed, the following provisions shall apply: a) There shall be a period after appointment during which the appointee will hold the position on probation. b) Such period shall be one year and may be extended at the discretion of the Director. c) Such person shall cease to hold the office at the end of the period of probation unless during such period the Director has certified that the service of such person is satisfactory based on the recommendation of the relevant Supervisor. d) Employment may be terminated during the probationary period should service be deemed by the Director to be unsatisfactory. Annual Leave Annual leave entitlement is 27 days per annum , exclusive of public and bank holidays, increasing to 29 days per annum after five years of service. Working Hours The normal hours of work will be 35 hours per week . The Regional Assembly reserves the right to alter the hours of work from time to time. Health For the purpose of satisfying the requirements as to health, it will be necessary for successful candidates, before they are appointed, to undergo at their expense a medical examination by a qualified medical practitioner to be nominated by the Regional Assembly. On taking up appointment, the expense of the medical examination will be refunded to candidates. Manufacturing Team Leader
This is a Permanent Manufacturing Team Lead position on Continental Shift, 2 x 12 hour days followed by 2 x 12 hour nights (8 days rotation - 4 days on 4 days off) Managing a team of 15-20 Associates. The Manufacturing Team Lead is a key role within the organization tasked with driving daily performance management at the shop floor level. This will be achieved by coaching, guiding and developing hourly Associates to drive improved results in the areas of Production, Safety, Quality, Service and Cost objectives compatible with Hollister’s Mission and Vision, through execution of Hollister Production System standards. This role is additionally responsible for implementing policies and corrective actions and advocating team growth within a team-based environment. Directly reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
