PURPOSE AND FUNCTION OF THE POST Undertake a range of horticultural, grounds and facility maintenance service tasks within all Parks & Cemeteries locations identified by the line manager either individually or as part of a team, ensuring all areas are well maintained, clean and presentable. To ensure effective communication with site users, other members of the team and line management. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsibility for operation of machinery and horticultural equipment including, grass cutting machinery, cultivation & hedge cutting equipment, and sports turf maintenance equipment and operation of such equipment in a safe, secure and proper manner. 2. Act as keyholder for grounds maintenance facilities as required. 3. Cleaning of equipment and work areas as required. 4. Preparation and maintenance of sports facilities including initial setting out, line marking and renovation of same. 5. Undertake grounds maintenance works as required including pedestrian grass cutting, ride-on mowing, hedge cutting, general parks cleansing including litter collection, path cleansing, collection of leaves, pruning, chemical safe storage calibration, recording and weed control, fertilising, planting, maintenance of floral schemes, grass areas, fine turf, play parks including inspections and other horticultural features. 6. As appropriate drive Council vehicles and assist with traffic management signage and lane closures if required. 7. To comply with and promote equality, health and safety in accordance with Council Policies and legal requirement. 8. Support the operation and implementation of the Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) and develop opportunities for contributions to LBAP targets. 9. Ensure appropriate use of IT Equipment, software and mobile phones where supplied. 10. Carry out all specified, and any other relevant, duties to the highest of professional standards, protecting the reputation and always ensuring the integrity of the Council. 11. Participate in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of the Service Plans responding to changing trends and stakeholder needs. 12. Achieve high standards of personal performance, through meeting agreed personal targets and undertaking planned programmes of professional development. 13. To increase the awareness of EVAWG across the Ards and North Down area. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To assist with the development of robust plans that could be taken forward as applications for submission to relevant funding body. 2. To proactively engage with communities to identify potential gaps in the provision of EVAWG awareness campaigns and address these through the programmes. 3. Responsible for EVAWG grants, applications, scoring, delivery and monitoring of the programmes. 4. Responsible for coordinating internal and external audits in line with Councils policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. 5. To support the successful grant applicants to deliver monitor and evaluate their programmes against the set criteria. 6. To assist in the preparation and monitoring of the EVAWG budget and KPIs to deliver on the current and any future action plans. 7. In collaboration with the Council’s communications team, plan, implement and monitor EVAWG marketing campaigns aimed at promoting awareness throughout the Borough, in compliance with relevant communications policies and procedures. 8. To plan and deliver public and stakeholder consultation and engagement activities managing governance, risk management, performance and budgeting. 9. To represent the Council at stakeholder groups and prepare reports from various meetings. 10. To collate, maintain and report up to date data on the success of the EVAWG programmes within the borough to funders and Council. 11. To provide a high level of internal and external customer service, in line with the Council’s policy and procedures. 12. Our staff are at the heart of everything we do and achieve. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Phlebotomist within our clinic in Newry. Location : 69 Hill St, Newry BT34 1DG. Contract Offered : Full-time, permanent Working Hours / Shifts : Alternating between a Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday shift pattern. Start and finish times with be either 6.40am to 3.20pm, 7.40am to 4.20pm and 10.20am to 7pm. These shifts are subject to change. For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage. In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI check. This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS). • Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent. • Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation. • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments. • Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic. • Proactively drive sales and exceed targets. • Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately. • Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks. Essential criteria: • Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training. • Confident using IT programmes. • Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends. • Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month. • Strong communication skills. • Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. • Valid UK or Irish driving licence.
