The role of a Social Care Worker Social Care Workers fulfil a key supportive and advocative role for individuals supported by the service. The Social Care Worker’s role is to support the person in all aspects of their life focusing on the individual's ability and promoting independence and development of skills. They assist in all aspects of the practical tasks associated with the daily life of the person supported either in their home or within a day service setting. The Social Care Worker will assist and support people who use the service with the development of their individual person centred plan and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, will support people who use the service to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and help individuals make their own, informed choices. Social Care Worker
Location: Drumcooley, Bray Hours: Full-Time, 169 per month Salary: HSE Scale 3029 Drumcooley is a residential service based in Bray , supporting two female residents on a 2:1 staffing basis . The individuals supported in this home enjoy rich, fulfilling lives and are actively engaged in their local community. We are seeking a committed and compassionate Social Care Worker to join a supportive team and contribute to high‑quality, person‑centred care. You will work alongside an experienced team of Social Care Workers and Care Assistants , across both full‑time and part‑time roles, supporting residents to maintain independence, choice, and community inclusion. Working hours will be variable including day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and unsociable hours. Applicants must have : · A passion for promoting and empowering those you support. · A team player willing to lone work as well as working as part of a team. · A knowledge of the HIQA regulations and standards · Excellent organisation and communication skills · Enthusiasm, energy, and creativity · Excellent IT and report writing skills. · Hold a full driving licence and be willing to drive location vehicles. · Can deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner. · Be flexible to work a variety of rostered shifts over a seven-day work period. · Understanding and experience of therapeutic interventions.
