MTS is looking for a reliable, practical and hardworking person to join the business. This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who wants to learn a specialised industry, take on responsibility and build a long-term career. You’ll be working directly with me and learning everything from: * Vehicle technology installations * GPS tracking systems * Remote tachograph systems * Customer support * Organising jobs and day-to-day operations * Problem-solving and fault finding * Learning how the business operates both in the office and out on the road The role is a genuine mix of office work and being out on the road. We look after customers throughout Ireland, so there is plenty of driving involved. You’ll spend time learning our systems, dealing with customers, travelling to customer sites, fitting equipment, setting systems up and helping customers get up and running. Requirements: * Full, clean Irish driving licence held for at least 2-3 years (essential) * Fluent English (essential) * Good attitude and willingness to learn * Reliable, punctual and hardworking * Comfortable dealing with customers * Comfortable using computers and technology * Practical and good with your hands * Able to work on your own initiative * Enjoys driving, variety and problem-solving * Willing to get stuck in and take on responsibility An interest in trucks, transport and the haulage industry would be a definite advantage, but direct experience isn’t essential. Full training will be provided. following successful completion of training and a qualifying period of employment, your hourly rate will increase There will occasionally be late evenings, overnight stays and the odd weekend when the job requires it, but the flexibility works both ways. The role will initially start with a training and trial period to make sure it’s the right fit for both sides. Following successful completion of training and a qualifying period of employment, your hourly rate will increase. I’m looking for a genuine, down-to-earth person who can be depended on and doesn’t need to be constantly told what to do. Maintenance Technician Job Overview Norbrook Laboratories Ltd is seeking to recruit a multi-skilled Shift Maintenance Technician based within our Maintenance Department the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out day to day electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing facility comprising of both preventive and reactive duties. The candidate is a critical member of Central Services Maintenance team and will take the lead role in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery forming part of our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The individual must also be willing to perform maintenance tasks for production output support as part of a team. Main Activities/Tasks • Rectify and support electrical and mechanical breakdowns efficiently and effectively • Communicate, record any changes, relevant information fully to other personnel and complete maintenance documentation. • Work as an integral part of an engineering team. • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. • To carry out routine/preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical components of the plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. • Ensure that all works are carried out to a high standard as expected on a pharmaceutical plant. • Ensure all H&S (Health and Safety) procedures are adhered to including Permit to Work, always Comply with Norbrook’s LOTO system. • Comply with Health & Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc. • Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately. • Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence. • Comply with the Company Equal Opportunities Policy and promote equality. • Any other duties as required by line management, commensurate with the post holder’s level of training and competence. • Create maintain & enhance effective working relationships with key stakeholders. • Any other duties as deemed necessary Essential Criteria: • Completed apprenticeship in Electrical or mechanical discipline within a manufacturing industry; • BTEC ONC qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline; • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; • Experience in carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding and planned maintenance; • Logical and well organised approach to problem solving; • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment, to operate under time pressure; • Ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised; Desirable Criteria: • BTEC HNC/HND qualification in an engineering discipline; • Previous Pharmaceutical Experience or working within regulate environments • Knowledge of control systems within automated equipment; Duration: Full Time, Permanent Location: Monaghan Additional Information: • Applicants should be able to provide proof that they have a right to work in Ireland at the time of their application. The Technician Grade 1 (Civil, Architectural & Building) is a key support position within the Council and is assigned to a service delivery area or to support a functional area as required. The Technician Grade I will work under the direction and management of the Executive Technician / Executive Architect or analogous grade or other employee designated by the Chief Technician, Senior Executive Engineer, Senior Executive Officer, Senior Engineer or Director of Services as appropriate. The role involves supporting managers and colleagues and working as part of a team in meeting work goals and objectives and delivering quality services to internal and external customers. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE The ideal candidate for the position shall: ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 1. Character Each candidate must be of good character. 2. Health Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 3. Education, Training, Experience, etc. Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms: 3.1 (a) have, satisfactory relevant experience, in a technician post at Grade II level, or in an analogous post under a local authority or health board in the State, and have at least three years satisfactory relevant experience in a technician post at Grade II level or in an analogous post, or (b) have satisfactory service, in a technician post at Grade I or higher level in an analogous post under a local authority or health board in the State and (c) possess adequate training or experience relating to the control and supervision of staff. OR 3.2 (a) (i) have passed the N.C.E.A. / H.E.T.A.C National Certificate Final Examination in Civil Engineering or Geo-surveying or Construction Studies or Construction Studies in Building Maintenance or Construction Studies in Architectural Graphics, or hold an equivalent qualification and (ii) have at least three years satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification concerned, or (iii) fulfil the requirements of paragraph 3.1. and (b) possess adequate training or experience relating to the control and supervision of staff. Failure to input and upload proof of essential educational qualifications in your application form will deem you ineligible for this competition. *Non-Irish Qualifications must be accompanied by a determination from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) to establish their comparability against the Irish National Framework of Qualifications, overseas qualifications must also be accompanied by a translation document.
